AAP is showing Favor of Female Circ
It is deciding to term the FGM into FGC as in female genital cutting because they realized with the recent attempts on female circ on daughters of people who belive in female circ that they should change it so it can prevent others from attempting to circ their own children even though female circ is illegal under the federal law .
The AAP no longer discourages its doctors from performing any female genital cutting - even though that is illegal - only its "harmful forms".
