MommieofKimmie is our Hostess of the month!!

Hey I am Angela aka Mommieofkimmie.
I started posting on sheknows when I was pregnant with my DD.
Was very shy at first so did not post much until I became pregnant with my DS.
Since I have enjoyed posting very much and have come out of my shell so to speak.
My favorite thing about the boards is all the wonderful ladies I get to meet and chat with I enjoy cooking because it is a stress reliever for me and I really enjoy cooking new recipies.
It makes me feel good when I try something new that I made and my family eats it and says its delicious or I take goodies over to my work and the guys over there love them.

Our recipe of the month came from one of our Hostess aria_dia
This ones really easy, can be done with any pound cake and is great to do with kids
Grilled Poundcake with Warmed Strawberries
(yeild: 4 servings)

2 cups strawberries, halved or quartered
1/4 cup sugar
4 slices poundcake (recipe follows)
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons orange liqueur*
Whipped cream

Combine berries and sugar in a medium saucepan.
Let stand at room temperature to allow juices to form.
Stir occasionally.
Preaheat grill on high heat for a few minutes**. Places strawberries on one side to warm. Stir occasionally.
Beat egg, milk and liqueur in a small shallow dish. Dip each slice of cake into egg mixture, turning to coat both sides thoroughly. Place each slice on grill. Turn after 3 or 4 minutes, or when nicely browned, and brown second side.
Place each slice of cake on dessert plate and spoon berries on top. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired. Serve immediately.
* You can sub liqueur for a little orange juice
** I use an indoor grill, but a regular frying pan will also work
