What do you say?

What do you say when people realize(d) you want to breastfeed past a year, or *gasp* two years, and they ask why?

I have trouble with this question because I know it is best for her to keep breastfeeding both for her physical and emotional health, but I can't seem to ever explain why it's so much better. Do you ladies have any facts or tidbits to quiet my closeminded family?

Oh, and it's not a curious "why?" it's a snotty why the hell would you wanna do that!? kind of "why".
