Jennifer, here's a question from a friend of mine. Do you have any advice...?
I need some help/advice. I have to first admit to being an ignorant parent when it comes to car seat safety. I assumed that my kids, all of them, were old enough to be in a booster seat, and didn't even realize that there were 5 point harness seats available for bigger kids. (which I admit is my own fault for not researching) I now know better, and I'm fixing our car seat situation. I just, on Saturday, ordered a Britax Regent for Jacob and Jordan.
So my situation is this: Cortney, 10.5, and Ryley, will be 9 in 11 days, both weigh 55 lbs. Cortney is 51.75" tall with a seated torso height of 18.5", and Ryley is 51.5" tall with a seated torso height of 19". I really think that I should get a regent for both of them as well, but at the same time I'm hesitating because they're so close to the maximum torso height, that one good growth spurt is going to have them outgrowing the seat.
The ideal situation is to wait until I get Jacob and Jordan's seats in and see how Cortney and Ryley fit in them, but then they won't be on sale any more. So do I buy the seats now, not really knowing how Cortney and Ryley are going to fit in them, but I'll save an extra $60? Or do I wait, make sure that they will fit in the seats, then spend $60 more, and have them in just boosters for that much longer?
TIA if you read all that, and even more thanks if you can offer me your advice.
