I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner!!! I've been horrible about getting online. I've been trying to take your advice about eating higher good quality calories and that seems to be helping a lot. We are still supplementing about 4 oz at night but I've been able to keep up otherwise.
The supplements sound great but we'll have to wait until DH gets work for them. Still planning on attempting to tadem nurse after LO is born - too many benefits to completely wean him now, especially with the new flu threats.
Also tried to take your advice with In-Laws and use pass the beans but was accused of starving Alex so the offending party has been cut off until further notice.
Good news though - Alex is in the 25% percentile in weight for his height! No nutrition problems just have to feed more frequently because he's so active he's having trouble eating enough at one sitting. So very easy to fix - we just feed on demand. We underwent testing last week for pituitary issues as we are now at 5 months without growth. Otherwise he is very healthy and we are usingt his cues to develop a plan to help with the sensory issues. We still hold him 24 hrs a day but he is now developing beautifully and fought to play on the floor for the first time last week!
Anyway thanks again for all the advice!!! I hope that your family had a Blessed Easter.
Thanks for the links on bfing! I had my first OB appointment and he's nervous about me continuing to nurse without talking to a specialist. I'm already seeing a decrease in my supply. I've done quite a bit of reading but am having difficulty trying to find safe ways of keeping up my supply (I'd like to nurse as long as Alex will do so) and advice on proper nutrition.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Josephine
