There's all kind of weird funk going around now that school started back, ugh. We have colds, and my mother (near Charlotte) was describing some come and go high fever virus in that area. . . a friend here has had some weird nausea. I hope you feel better!
I took my camera but didn't take any photos sadly. My kids enjoyed a pirate magic show by some local guy with a real peg leg!
www.captainjimismagic.com if interested. Then there was a room set up with plastic playground equipment, a few "fair" games, some info tables from March of Dimes and the NICU, a board to post messages to the NICU staff, and pretty nice free food. We didn't dress up, but some kids and staff volunteers were costumed.
I was kind of sad because we only got to see one of the nurses who worked with us. She had made an effort to be there, and other than her, I only recognized the lady from the Family Support Network who spoke to us a number of times in the hospital. I was excited to see a little baby girl who had been in a pod with us. . . she'd already been in there for three months, and we'd been released before her.
I went up to Antenatal to visit the nurses on duty and say hi, and it was so weird to see into the room I stayed in for 7 weeks.
I don't know if we'll go back next year, but if there's not much going on, it was something nice to do. We weren't in the NICU as long as some, so I guess it's not as big of a deal. Nonetheless, they did a nice job putting it together.
I did miss you, but I figured the weather had held y'all from coming or something else came up! I'm sorry you're not feeling well!
