Re: Weight loss place=Forget it!
Me again. Lurking from BIN.
My mom is doing weight watchers and in 4 months she's lost 40 lbs! They're plans are really flexible- you don't even buy their food(unless you want something quick and you pick up a TV dinner at the grocery store)- but you can eat pretty much whatever you want in moderation!
They're online program consist of recipies, unlimited meetings/weigh ins- support, etc and it cost 40 a month!
That is friggin nuts to pay that! Mmm, soy bars for 28 a month! Yah, OK! Nuts!

Re: Weight loss place=Forget it!
Woooah, that is some BS! Glad you didn't get sucked in! Usually I am very gullible, but I would definitely not fall for that! I love using the excuse..I need to talk to my husband first, it saves me from not saying anything and then signing up for whatever it is!

Re: Weight loss place=Forget it!
I was hunting around for a promo code the other day. I couldn't find any that were not expired.

Re: Weight loss place=Forget it!
I would do WW over LA any day! My friend left there (she was a manager) and told me do WW!

Re: Weight loss place=Forget it!
Don't make too much fun - but I did it once. My mom lost a LOT of weight at LA, but you HAVE to go in once a week or the get half $ back (the thing they had going on then) was called off. And the closest two locations are both an hour away. And that is freaking crazy. I don't even remember how much it cost, I think I wanted to lose 80 lbs. So mine was more. But I put it on a CareCredit card (DON'T do that either friends) so I don't exactly remember. I was on it about a week and a half when I had some trouble my BP plummeting and then going back to normal - it made me feel drunk for little 2 second intervals. My doc ran labs and it was because my sodium was so low, due to the limitations of LA. He told me to drink a Gatorade, and I told him I couldn't. He told me to get my money back now, and to quit the stupid thing, and drink a damn Gatorade or something. I was all off balance.
So we drove the freaking hour there, and whadaya know. Those sweet sweet thangs got all defensive and mean! DH said he thought it was strange that a bunch of fat chicks work at a weight loss place. I told them that my doctor said it was dangerous because I was allowed ONE TEASPOON of salt substitute a day and therefore my sodium levels were very low. They looked at me like I had two heads, and said that they had never heard that. Whatever. I got back *some* of my money but not the non refundable startup cost. But I had to leave without my money and drive back a week later to get the damn check. grrr. I hate them, btw.
Also, we were TTC then, and I hoped to be pregnant within that next 12 months, and what would have happened then?
We don't have a WW here. It's well known, and been around a while, so I wouldn't mind trying it - much cheaper for sure. But gas costs too much to have to drive an hour for meetings.

Re: Weight loss place=Forget it!
Did you know that working out only helps with 30% of losing weight, Its eating the right food that gets rid of most of it, About 70%. I have a friend who is a gym instructor and she told me its mainly eating the right food that get rid of most of it.
As well I used to work out and I didn't lose that much. But with Calebs pg all I did was eat right and I didn't work out at all, And I lost 2 dress sizes. So I have less weight now then when I first got pg.
Even just walking helps to keep you fit!

Re: Weight loss place=Forget it!
Wow, that's crazy! How friggin' RUDE!!
On a good note, you will love WW! I am down 23lbs so far and it's going slow but slow is good! It's more likely to stay off that way. WW teaches you proper proportions, eating right, making ebtter choices and that's why I like it so much.
If you look on my blog and into the archives I posted a few of my favorite low point snacks
Good luck!
