I have to go out of town all day Saturday and Savannah needs to stay home with DH. This will be the longest I'm away from her. I'm trying to store up BM, but I don't have enough for the whole day for her.

When we brought her home, she was on EBM and formula supplement. I have the Good Start Ready made stuff, the one in 3 oz glass jars, and that was what we used until my supply was up.

Well, we just tried to feed her some, so I can store some more milk, and holy COW, have you ever seen a face! She sucks the bottle a few times until it comes out, then just stops and looks at you like WTH do you think you're doing??? She won't eat it!

Is there anything that is ready made that might taste closer to BM? I know this formula smells funky to me (as in just that sweet creamy smell). Obviously she no longer likes it.

It is a dang funny face though!

Any ideas?

I have no idea... I would say try to up your supply some, but I have no advice on how to do that. Someone on here must have an idea...

I just found some samples of Similac Advance individual packets of powder, made that up....and no go. As soon as she tastes it, she gives me a nasty look and pushes the nipple out with her tongue.


Picky little snot. I've been trying to pump more all last week, back to pumping every 4 hours around the clock, and I don't know if she's going through a phase of some sort, but shes wanting to eat more, and sleeping less, so she eats more. Usually I can catch up at night pumping while she sleeps, but the little bugger has only been catnapping during the day, so she wants more. She's not very heavy, I think in 25th percentile, so I don't want to really push her NOT to eat.

Sigh. The darling. I need to figure something out, because Saturday I have to look at a bunch of horses I'm going to be selling on consignment, and if all goes as planned, my commission will be enough to keep us comfortable at least until winter (they are a very rare breed of horse, and one that I grew up with, so I have the contacts and whatnot to be able to prep and sell them).

Bugger bugger bugger.

May be try giving her formula when she is super hungry? I've done that with Artem, he will not take a bottle with formula unless he is very hungry....by the way, the formula that is less stinky and Artem will take it when DH stays with him is the organic one called "Earth's Best" Wish you luck!!!

Doc said mix it half and half or 2/3 milk to 1/3 formula. She took 3 oz of the 2/3 mix earlier finally, and now is refusing it again.

This is turning into a bloody exhausting day!
