My father snores so loud that my mother cant sleep. After 38 years he found out it was a medical problem causing him to snore. My son and two nephews had health issues that cuased them to snore really loud too. To be honest if my son wasnt snoring for years I automatically woke up. Because he had stopped breathing while we were asleep when he was two months old. I awake and we rushed him to the hospital. TG he made it alright. After having his tonsils removed, he stopped snoring. Just wanted to bring a little awareness to why one might snore.

I went to the doctor about my snoring, it was bothering the hubby. I was sent on a sleep study, you stay overnight at a clinic hooked up to machines that monitor you. It was very odd, but I managed to sleep.

Long story short, turned out I had severe obstructive sleep apnea. A very serious condition that can lead to heart disease and respiratory disease if left untreated or undiagnosed.

I now have had a prescription CPAP machine for about 4 years, it keeps my airway open so I don't stop breathing at night. And it has helped a lot. Even though the hubby now claims I sound like Darth Vadar haha.

If you know of someone who snores, it may be they have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can effect the young or old and is not exclusive to those that are over weight (as supposed by most folks). It is very important to comply with treatment too. Definitely read more about it if you suspect you have sleep apnea.

Don't I know this is the truth. My husband not only snores extremely loud but also has night terrors. We have tried many over the counter remedies for snoring with no success. I am trying to get him to go to a sleep specialist so I can get sleep!

I hope he goes, it's a very serious condition with potentially fatal complications.
