Has Anyone Had This Happen To Them?
Dated a guy for about a year. He was twice divorced, 2 kids, mid-forties, lived with mother, steady job.
For the entire year we were dating: 1. He never told anyone about me, even lied when we were together and he received a call; told person on the other end (male or female) he was just out having a bite to eat; 2. Always kept me waiting when meeting for a date, even on my birthday, always showed up at my house for dinner 1-2 hours late; 3. Most importantly, constantly criticized me about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING he could.
By the end of the relationship, I became so emotionally detached, the thought of being with him actually sickened me. One day, a couple of months ago we just stopped phoning each other, no closure, nothing. And for any one out there wondering; no, I never criticized, lied, and did tell my friends and family about him, even my kids.
Why did I do this for a whole year, you ask? At the beginning he seemed to have potential. We had things in common, he always paid for dinner, called me nightly, I'd say the last 6 months it went downhill.
What was the deal? Can anyone give me some insight? Thanks, Rosemary
