My husband and I both used to have a cell phone. A few months back we gave one of them up because of the expense.

Since we only use it for emergencies or when we travel long distance (only a couple times of year at the most) we thought it was a waste of money.

Last week I decided to ditch the other phone as I didn't think $46.00 a month for the limited use it got warranted the money we spent.

Now I am thinking of buying one of those phones you use with a prepaid calling plan.

Does anyone use this type of service? Which phone did you buy? I have seen them as little as $10.00 on sale at CVS or Walgreens. Plus I know you need to buy a card for the minutes. It sounds like a much cheaper way to go than the plan we had before.

I hear a lot of people giving up their landlines for cell phones. Unfortunately that is not practical for us as we can't get a signal for a cell phone here at home anyway.
