The human body is made up of 70 percent water. Water is the driving force for many of our bodily functions including digestion, circulation and excretion, among others. If we do not consume enough water, toxins build up in our bodies. Not only does water flush toxins from our body, but it also flushes it from our skin. For healthy skin, drink 8 to 10 glasses of water each day.
Remember that water in any form counts, but pure water is the best for the health of our bodies and skin. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and juices can be counted into your daily water intake, but make sure at least half of your 8 to 10 glasses are pure water. A glass is 8 ounces, so if you drink a 16 ounce soda that covers two servings. In addition to flushing toxins from skin, water keeps you skin hydrated to prevent drying and wrinkles.
