Has anyone had to have a silver nitrate treatment on thier LO's bellybutton? Maia has extra tissue in her bellybutton and as the rest of it was healing and going flat it was protruding more, yesterday at her 2 month appointment (also for her first shots which I think hurt me more!) our pediatrician put silver nitrate on it to help shrink the tissue and today when we were dressing her it started to bleed a bit (a bit more than spotting but not freak out bleeding if that makes sense). The doc didn't mention anything about bleeding, I put a damp warm cloth on her tummy with a little compression and it stopped but I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Unfortunately our pediatrician doesn't have an after hours service and since it stopped bleeding I don't think its necessary to go to a walk in clinic. Anyone else have experience with this?
