6.3 Earthquake
last September our 3rd Largest City, Christchurch suffered a 7.1 earthquake..fortunately there were no casualties.
for the next 5 or so months they had hundreds (perhaps thousands) of aftershocks.
on Tuesday 22 February Christchurch was hit with a 6.3 earthquake this time it was a lot shallow. the damage was much greater this time.
the Christchurch Cathedral which survived the September earth quake was not so lucky this time around and I realise it is just a building but it was the Icon of Christchurch it was opened in 1881. so a lot of History there
There have been 75 confirmed dead and 300 missing.
I have managed to get in touch with my sister and she and her husband are safe.
watching the news it is like a war zone
