I would love to hear not just the immediate bedtime routine but how your whole night goes. I have no idea what is going on here but we need to fix it asap. Oh, and let me know how your dc sleeps when telling me about your routine (you know, so I don't follow the advice of the non-sleepers

j/k- any info is greatly appreciated!).
Our problem is late bedtime and unwillingness to fall asleep. He used to nurse to sleep. For a few weeks now he has woken up within 30 minutes of nursing to sleep. If I topped him off he would go back to sleep and stay asleep for the night. But, the past few nights he has not been willing to nurse that 2nd time. Instead he is awake. For some of the time he is happy as can be and just plays in the family room with us. Now, I don't know if he would do that indefinetly or if he would get fussy b/c he is tired. I know he objects dramatically if we try to put him to sleep. We have tried car rides, walking around, rubbing his back while he was in his crib (that almost worked but after 45 minutes I got tired of doing it), rocking in the chair, soothing music... He totally refuses to nurse. We won't take a pacifier. He doesn't want to co-sleep. He wants to be awake past midnight.
Last night I tried to get him to sleep earlier than normal (9 vs 10) with no success (actually, worse success).
He naps great- he takes a 2-3 hour nap from the 1-4 vicinity. He is pretty darned pleasant all evening long too. He wakes up around 9. I'm going batty here and I know he isn't getting enough sleep.
