Re: It's my week now!
What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas eve. I know that's not an official holiday but I like the excitement and anticipation right before Christmas. Christmas tends to be too busy and a tad anti climatic.
Any summer plans?
We are still trying to decide! I go back and forth on just being practical, saving money and hanging out at home (or taking a weekend trip) or take a real vacation. I don't know yet.
If you get to move to George's villa can I come visit????
Most certainly. Ah, could you just imagine??

D'oh! I was wondering about that question!
I went to a LLL seminar once and they had a guest speaker there talking about doula training and she really sold me on being a pp doula. I already was planning that over being a birth doula because I think I have done well when I have helped my new mom friends in the past. Also, I used to not want to be in the birth room with someone. Now, I think I would be a good birth doula but the whole on call thing is so tough when you have a little family. I can't imagine having to be gone from ds2 especially for up to 24 hours or more- and have to go anytime of day.
I also worry that I won't be able to be as objective as I should be. I had my birth goals and they may not line up with someone else's. Also, I would have a hard time biting my tongue if the mom was misled about something, which the doula speaker talked about happening on occasion. Basically I am not sure I am cut out for it emotionally yet. It would be neat to be there for the birth of babies though! Someday I will probably do it.

Favorite TV show?
So you think you can Dance! Other ones I like are 30 Rock, Battlestar Galactica, and 24.
Pet Peeve(s)
I'll come back to this later. I'm feeling all relaxed from my day and I don't want to let myself think about the many things that annoy me.
Any animals?
see above. I tried to take pics of Pig to share on here before but she's a tricky one to photograph.

Re: It's my week now!
what was your wedding like?
Elegant but relaxed. We got married in the gardens of a nice restaurant and had the reception in the reception room there. We got lucky and had gorgeous weather! It was April so it could have been anything but an overcast day turned into a clear skied, warm day. I picked the venue for many reasons but one was the chairs. I didn't want to go anywhere that had those metal framed, nylon padded chairs so I immediately ruled out places that had them. Our place had these plush, velvety chairs. We kept it smallish (65 guests). We hired a jazz trio that played nice background music during cocktail hour but then played lots of fun swing music and twists on some popular songs for dancing. It was just a fun day and it was pretty traditional.
how long have you and DH been married?
8 year
what do you love most about him?
He just makes me happy. We can make each other laugh. I really enjoy being with him. Like if I were stranded on a deserted island with him forever I would totally be ok with that. I still get butterflies around him (not as much as years ago but enough to remind me of how much I love him).

Re: It's my week now!
If you had $1,000,000 to donate, where/to whom would you donate it?
If you had $1,000,000 for yourselves and you HAD to spend it (no investing, no giving to family/friends, etc.), what would you buy?
Are there any celebrities you'd like to meet?
What do you think about Brett Favre perhaps coming out of retirement?

Re: It's my week now!
Other than speeding, have you ever done anything illegal?
Can you recall your worst date ever?
Do you have a favorite designer?
Biggest fear?

Re: It's my week now!

I'm torn. Cancer research vs something more local and specific (like a scholarship fund for college bound students in a less well off district or even my birthing center b/c they barely make ends meet).

I would spend about $600K on a new house if we stayed where we are now. I'd buy a new car, like another Civic (something ridiculously practical as well as small). I would hire a decorator to do the new house because I stink at the little stuff. I would hire a cleaning person to come every other day. Then I would take a vacation- I could see renting a kick butt beach house in NC and inviting all our friends and family to join us for 2 weeks. Then I would ditch the kids and take off to Hawaii with dh for another 2 weeks. Hmm, if I haven't spent it all yet I would do even more traveling.
Are there any celebrities you'd like to meet?
I can't really think of anyone.
What do you think about Brett Favre perhaps coming out of retirement?
He's too old.

Re: It's my week now!

How about underage drinking? Not very earth shattering, huh? Otherwise, nothing really to declare.
Can you recall your worst date ever?
Any with my boyfriend jr. year of high school. He was great arm candy and I never took him seriously so I didn't really mind that he was kind of a jerk. I think what takes the cake is prom that year when he had us drive his ex-girlfriend home b/c she got in a fight with her date at prom. Luckily I have never really had any awful, noteworthy dates. That's what you get when you marry your h.s. sweetheart, I guess. I have a fear of something happening to dh and me having to enter the dating scene. Books, movies and TV make it out to be a pretty grim prospect especially later in life.
Do you have a favorite designer?
I'm not much of a label watcher anymore. However, I don't think I have ever seen a pair of Prada shoes I haven't liked!
Biggest fear?
Something happening to dh or the kids.
Beth
