Hi,

My names Melanie and I'm due with my second (a baby girl) on Oct. 11th. I've been debating whether I belong here or 30's because I'm 39 now, but will be 40 on Sept. 7th. I had my U/S this week and it's clear the Dr.'s are calling me 40, so here I am. The good news is she looks perfect, has my dad's LONG fingers and the NT scan and bloodwork look fine, so we decided to skip the amnio.

After that news, the perinatologist made me feel really old. He wants me to have an U/S every six weeks because the combination of my asthma and age put the baby at high risk for IGR. I'm on vit. D and calcium now because older women don't absorb calcium as well. And they want me delivered by my due date (although he wasn't clear on why. I need to bug my regular Dr. about that.) All of this is new from my last pregnancy at 36. Anyone else being told they won't be allowed to go past their due date?

Looking forward to meeting you ladies (although I've done some lurking so I feel like I know you a little.)
