Default Re: First OB Appt today!

Yes, I want to be aware of any potential problems before the birth of my baby. No surprises. I don't feel the need to go through a level 2 u/s, AFP testing (which would show elevated levels just because of my age anyway) and Genetic counseling all for those to just try to convince me to have a procedure that I am perfectly comfortable with having in the first place. I had one done with my daughter. It was no big deal to me and I was at ease for the remainder of my pregnancy, knowing that I had a healthy baby on the way. If, however, the results are not favorable, then I would also have the remainder of my pregnancy to prepare myself for the road ahead. Hope that clarifies my reasons for volunteering to have the amnio.
