My Twins are here!
Jackson and Mackenzie arrived on April 22 and are doing GREAT! Jackson weighed 6.1 and Mackenzie weighed 5.7... they are so totally different which i didnt expect at all.... now, if only I could get them on some kind of schedule... any input??? Here are a couple pics...
OMG- They are just beautiful!!! Congratulations! They had really good weights too.
Another Jackson! That's my son's name too.
My advice with the schedule- Don't even try at this point. We're still at 3 hour feedings during the day at unpredictable times depending on how long they sleep at night. So they don't always eat at the same time each day even now. We go to bed anytime between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. depending on the day!!
We made sure not to feed them at any less than 2 hours and no more than 4 at first. We always woke the other baby to feed at the same time though.
Are you breastfeeding or bottle feeding? We started out on the breast but soon after I had to start pumping because I was too beat. This helped because if I had someone else there we could feed at the same time. I also got good at feeding them at the same time by feeding one in my legs and putting one in the Boppy. It works great except when they get ticked when I stop to burp them! They will scream!! On one of my last days home on maternity leave, I tried the Podee bottles and they worked great too. We don't use them that often because I think being held is important while being fed, but when you are alone it's great!
The chaos of the first couple weeks definitely gets better. Enjoy every minute- they grow so fast!

Congratulations. Your babies are utterley adorable! Good luck on getting them on some kind of schedule. I take my hat off to you moms of twins, I had a dreadful time sorting out the schedule of my only-baby! I used to think I was an organised person, until I became a mum!
I agree with everything Care said! I bf'ed (and still am) I just made sure to feed both even if the other one did not seem to be hungry. It kinda felt like if their tummies were on the same clock their sleep would fall into line too.

!!!!! My advice: if you feed one, feed the other. It keeps them on nearly the same schedule and makes it easier for you, especially early on. We don't always do that anymore, but then again, they go for longer stretches between feedings and at this point, I like to be able to focus on only one baby. Like care, I had to pump because the babies had latch issues and could never get latched on to eat at the breast. I am still pumping to this day and able to solely feed them with breastmilk. If you need support, definitely ask one of us, since we've all been there. Good luck! I know it is exhilarating and overwhelming all at once.
