Re: May Chatty Thread
patty and joanna- love the new pics such cuties
dawn- wow you have been busy glad your trip went so well
care- 9 days of work left woo hoo!! the smiles are the best I can't have a bad day when I go to say bye to her before I leave for work and see that sweet smile
Robin and swell - hang in there I no the waiting inbetwen appts always made me go crazy.
Well Kaitlyn had her 4 month Dr. appt today our little piglet is 15lbs 11oz and 251/2" in the 90th percentile her head is only in the 70th but that is mainly because it is so flat in the back. we got referred to a specialist who is going to try to recommend some things that might help before we have to resort to a helmet for her.she had her shots and cried really hard glad DP was there to see it and not me cause I would have for sure cried right with her. now she is just sleeping on" Gramma bed " she has tried rice cereal although so far she is not really all that big on it but we will see after a few days of it we can try oatmeal which I hear alot of babies perfer over the rice.
well as some of you remember I kind of had a rough pregnancy with my blood pressure and having to be induced 3 weeks early and having all these tests no one could figure out what was wrong well it turns out I have a para thyroid tumor which is basically a benign tumor on one of your thyroid glands but it can cause high blood pressure tirednes and it takes calcium from your bones so you can break bones more easily. so anyway I have to have surgery the good news is it is usually 95 % curable and so if we ever get crazy enough to try for another little one (which I really want to but dp is not so sure basically just financially speaking) I might not have to go through the same issues . also I guess I was at a high risk for miscarriage which I am really !! glad I did not know this while I was pregnant.
ok well that is my book

Re: May Chatty Thread
Dawn- I'm so glad Kathy's parent's were better than you expected.
Suellen- That's so exciting that you felt the baby move, and so normal to go a long time between feeling movements at this stage.
Care- I hope you and Harper are feeling better. WTG Jackson! Yeah for only a few days left!
Jen- I really hope you can avoid the helmet for Kaitlyn. Also, Jocelyn does prefer oatmeal over rice cerel so hopefully that will spark her interest. I'm glad you found a cause for your problems, but that sucks you have to have surgery to correct it. How soon are you planning on doing that?
Well, my baby's sick for the first time (other than a cold this winter). She's had a fever anywhere from 99.9 to 103.4 over the past day and a half. We took her in yesterday and she has a double ear infection. The doc said it was pretty bad so she's doing a three day series of rocephin (injections) and we're alternating tylenol and motrin to try to keep the fever down so she's more comfortable. She never showed any signs of an ear infection except the fever. She's still not really playing with her ears. I just hate that I waited so long to bring her in, but that's what the peds office recommended (and I understand why). In fact when I called them yesterday the advice nurse said I should wait one more day, but I insisted that she be seen and I'm glad I did. Anyways, that's pretty much what's consuming my mind. Hope all's well with my cyber friends.

Re: May Chatty Thread
Hi everyone. I just found this website and am checking in. I am a 36yo lesbian with a 41 yo partner. We started ttcing in November, and I had a miscarriage last month at 10 weeks. We are just starting over, and I am looking for more online lesbian resources.
Just thought I would say hi.

Re: May Chatty Thread
Jen- Katie is so big! Wow! I hope she doesn't have to do the helmet too. OMG- about the thyroid concerns. I'm sooo glad they didn't tell you about the miscarriage risk! That would have freaked me out! I'm glad you are getting treatment.
Joanna- I'm so sorry she's sick! Get better soon, Jocelyn.
WannaB2Moms- I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I can't imagine how hard that must be. Feel free to join in and ask questions. This is a great group of ladies. There is also a Gay/Lesbian TTC page that I found very helpful during our long journey TTC.

Re: May Chatty Thread
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!
We were busier than usual and the babies are wiped!!
We FINALLY have a court date scheduled for June 18th for the adoption. It seems to be taking forever for this! Then, I guess we'll have the 2nd court date in December for the finalization and they'll get their new birth certificates. Fortunately, they won't need new social security cards since their names aren't changing.
I'm looking forward to the summer. Only 6 more days of work. Susan's last maternity leave day is tomorrow. I'm a little nervous about having us both gone all day for 5 days. As for babysitters, two days will be Susan's 20 year old niece and her cousin. One day will be my mom. One day will be Susan 16 and 12 year old nieces and a friend of theirs. The last day will be our good friend. I've written out obsessive directions!!

Re: May Chatty Thread
Congrats on the court dates. I wonder why we only had one court appearance. Maybe its cause we could not have the BC changed??
You have to be so nervous about leaving Harper and Jackson!!!!

Re: May Chatty Thread
Wanna- Welcome! So sorry about your miscarriage. Good luck with your ttc journey!
Care- Glad you have the court dates. That sucks that it's taking so long. That's got to be nerve racking to leave both babies with other care providers. I hope all goes well.
Jocelyn's doing much better, thanks. She had a reaction to the second shot (minor local reaction) so they switched her to amoxacilin (sp?). Then she broke out in a rash. I was convinced it was an allergic reaction but when we brought her in yesterday the doc thinks she happens to also have a virus. Somehow she was able to see a sore throat. Anyways, the ear infection has cleared up so no more antibiotics for now and the rash is going away.

Re: May Chatty Thread
Hey ladies. Sorry I haven't been on much lately. I try to keep up with your postings but I have not had much time to respond. The babies are killing me lately. Lachlan has been really cranky and nothing seems to help him some days. Today has been rough. Every time I get one baby to settle down, the other freaks out and I have to get up and in the process disturb the relaxed/sleeping baby. So then--of course--they both end up unhappy. I can't seem to find the right gadget to help keep them satisfied. I have a Bumbo, a swing, bouncy seats, a play mat, an exersaucer and nothing is keeping them happy for more than a few minutes. They're at an age when they want to sit up but can't do it on their own and I can't hold both up at the same time so they get mad at me. DP and I even fought this morning about how to deal with L. We never fight but I think we're so sleep deprived and they are so rough that we are both at wit's end. Anyway, I must run b/c the babies are unhappy and somehow in the midst of all this I need to eat some food.

Re: May Chatty Thread
hi all!
just checking in to say hi. i was MIA all weekend--visiting family in boston (i live in PA) and answering the "how are you FEELING?" question over and over. it's boring, but i'll take answering that question over "pregnant yet?" any day!
as to how i'm feeling---great! way less tired since going off the progesterone and less breast soreness too. (still there, but less.) crazy having to pee all the time and then when i go, it's practically nothing. must be pressure from my biggole uterus. i'm still pretty irritable, too.
i loved catching up on all your posts. glad jocelyn's feeling better, sorry the twins are cranky, a. i guess it just goes with the territory, right? in the meantime, i'll continue to enjoy the peacefulness of a house that only has adults and cats!
hope everyone had a great weekend!

Re: May Chatty Thread
A- Hang in there! And don't feel bad about not posting.
Are they sleeping through the night yet so that you can get some rest? Are you still working or do you get the summer off? Are you still pumping? Is there a way you can give up something to help make it easy for you?
L's getting a little old for this, but does he like the "Happiest Baby on the Block" techniques? This has helped Jack SOOOO much when he gets out of control fussy- usually that prime time- late afternoon- 4:30 to 6. We add a T to the 5 S's- TV. I know it's horrible, but it really calms him down!
Robin- Glad you had a nice trip!

Re: May Chatty Thread
We just got back from Sharon's 16 week appointment. Everything is still good. We got to hear the heartbeat with the doppler (159 beats/min). And they drew her blood for the quad screen. We'll keep our fingers crossed for good results when we hear back next week. We have the big ultrasound scheduled for 4wks from now.
Hope all is well with everyone else.

Hey... all. Just checking in between running around. OY!... but we are all having a good time.
Glad everyone is doing well. Sorry things are rough right now, A... remember it won't be like this forever. (that is my mantra when I am at my wits end)
Will be able to be on more next week, since we will be away at a conference and I will have nothing really to do but hang with little Olivia... COOL!

Re: May Chatty Thread
Starz-- and I hope you get some good strong beta numbers. The first weeks can be so nerve-wracking.
J-glad everything looks great!
Thanks for your support ladies. Carrie, I have still do some of the Happiest Baby techniques. We swaddle L during naps and at night if needed. He's getting better and we don't always need to swaddle him. Last night was an exception. We had a rough night. (Little A is helping me type so excuse any craziness). I am still pumping but I've tried to cut down on night pumping so I can sleep more. I still usually pump once in the middle of the night though. I also work. I got a grant so I could avoid teaching but it means i have to do some research and I have a lot more to do. I did take this week off but it was a rough one.
