Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
Wow! This is great news! I'm so happy for her!!!!!
Been quiet around here...
We've been insanely busy. Susan's been home (spring break), so we've been doing so much more. It's going to be hard to be on my own next week!!

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
I am now referring to myself as "The Pick-up Artist" It seems like all I do is walk around the house picking things up! Caleb, bottles, burp cloths, blankets, pacis, glasses, clothes, dishes.....
And he's not even mobile yet!!
I can't believe how much of a mess the house has turned in to because of a 12 lb little being! Sheesh!
(Could be because apparently since DP has milk coming out of her breasts she has gone blind to everything else that needs to be done around here. Oh, right. I promised myself I wouldn't bit@h about that. Hmmm...when does her maternity leave end?)
Anyone else feeling the same?

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
I think Julie gave up pretty early on this one. She is a germ freak (or I should say WAS a germ freak) one day (in the early days of the twins being home) she used one of my used breast pads as a coaster.... So I guess when you have milk coming out of you it does make you blind!

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
You guys make me laugh. In the last week both my boys have started crawling, and my living room looks like childhood exploded. I pick up the same 30 blocks, board books, keys and rattles at least ten times a day. I am good with letting go of order for the next two years.

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
I love seeing all the little babies!!
Well I am finally feeling a lot better so I wanted to jump on! On a side note my "baby" just turned 4 last Sat! He is such a little boy now.
So I have a nuchael test ultrasound and blood test scheduled for 03/31 then another appointment w/ my OB on 04/08. They are going to check for Down's and other things. I guess they cant do just the blood work as with multiples the numbers will always come back higher than normal so I guess they do a comparision of the two. We said we wouldnt change anything even if the test did come out positive but I looked at it as another chance to see the babies. Especially as when we heard the heartbeats on 03/14 they couldnt confirm they heard both of them as they have only been a beat or 2 apart but on the flip side she said I was measuring more than than 4 weeks ahead so they are both growing fine. The midwife I saw (just for the 1st appointment) actually had triplets via IVF so she said when she would go and they would listen for the heartbeats they would always tell her they are "pretty sure" they are all ok as they couldnt pin point exactly!
Sorry for the rambling!
Shannon - Come on and join us!! She had a great second beta today!!

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
Laura- Yes! Every morning I feel like our house exploded. The couch is a mess from middle of the night feedings and there are diapers on the floor, and all kinds of things! Caleb is 12 pounds! I think he's only a little over a week older than my two. I'm hoping mine are above 7!
Bama- I bet mobility is scary with the little ones. We have a ton of super yards so maybe that will help!! I saw a John and Kate plus 8 where their whole living room was a super yard!
Sado- Yeah, they didn't do the bloodwork for me either. Take whatever they say with a grain of salt. Jackson came back with a pretty high risk of downs. He didn't cooperate and moved a lot during the measurements. We didn't do the amnio or anything anyway, but by the 20 week scan everything measured fine. Enjoy the "extra" ultrasound. Just wait until later though- sometimes with twins you get a million. I'm fairly sure I had a least 20- or it seemed like it!

shanon- Congrats!!
Sado-glad you are feeling better
I am so tired it is our end of the quarter at work so for this week and next it is 12 hr days so I have not had much time to geton here Kaitlyn had her 2 month dr visit yesterday she is 11 1/2 lbs and 23 " she got all her shots dp almost cried ( she had to take her cause I am stuck t work) the shots gave her a little fever so we had to give her infant tylonyl and she was really tired but not that fussy considering but she did sleep through the night for the first time. she is doing good. she has a blocked tear duct that is getting better and she is having some issues with her head getting flat from sleeping on her back I hope she will not have to wear a helmet to reshape her head but the dr said sometimes it corrects itself.

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
hello all... I will finally join back in now that we are on a little bit of a schedule... of course, it is Olivia's schedule that we are learning!
It is such a joy for us to have little Olivia in the house. Sometimes I just look at her or look at Kathy holding her and burst into tears. <sigh>
Everyone seems to be well despite minor setbacks here and there. Congrats to the two new moms-to-be that have joined in!

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
My parents visited this weekend and allowed my DP and I to get out of the house alone for a while. It was weird! We didn't know what to do with ourselves (it was late--8 pm!!), so we ended up shopping for new jeans for me (I was still wearing HUGE maternity jeans). For about 10 minutes I forgot I was a mom and then I was surprised when I realized I am a mom. It was a bizarre moment!
Tomorrow I start going in to work a few days a week. I'm nervous about being away from the babies. I am really going to miss them, even though I only have to be gone for a few hours at a time. I will also miss my DP b/c she will go to work right after I get home and I won't see much of her.

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
I'm feeling terribly sad this morning as I head off to work. I am also totally sleep deprived. This is the worst it's been since right after the babies were born. They didn't want to go to sleep when I headed for bed, so I was up until 1:00, then I had to get up at 7, plus there was about 4 hours of intermittent crying and working on poo noises.

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
Shannon - Congratulations, hope to see you chatting here soon!
Patty - you are so right, bad napping does seem to mean a bad night of sleeping. My DP and I always say when it comes to babies "sleep begets sleep". The days Mason napped well, he went on to sleep well during the night (not that he ever slept through without interuption until many many many months later...)
Alita - isn't that just the way of it, worst night's sleep and then having to go to work the next morning. I'm so sorry you are going through that. Having to work when you have a baby/babies really is the pits, I can relate!
Dawn - hope that schedule of Olivia works! Isn't it wonderful (and a bit overwhelming) to have a newborn in your home?!
Jen - it is really hard working and caring for a baby. Congrats on the first full night of sleeping through, I hope there is many more ahead. Hopefully the helmet won't be necessary, although I've heard some good reports about them via my blog reading (never seen them used in Australia, although I'm sure they must be).
Carrie - good luck with being on your own. I'm sending you strength to handle two bubs on your own, may your nipples be fully healed and your milk plentiful...and may your babies sleep well and let you get some rest too! I'll be thinking of you.
Donna - I'm glad you are feeling better. Hey, we both have 4yo sons! Mind you I don't have twins on the way Is Austin talking much about becoming a big brother?
bamamoms - I can't imagine having two crawlers to watch after! YIKES!! Certainly the end of order in your house for quite a while! (we are just starting to get a bit of order in ours, now that Mason is 4yo)
Laura - the picking up never stops....if it's not picking up after your DP, it's picking up after your kid. I can't remember the last time I walked through the house without having to stop and pick something up, it drives me crazy! You'll get used to it...or NOT!!! sorry!!
My news - I took a tumble in a very public supermarket carpark (full of university students) and now my badly graised toes are infected and I can't wear any type of shoe and am on antibiotics! Luckily I didn't re-injure my knees or pelvis, but I do have a badly bruised arm and elbow. It's the toes that are the big problem though...who would have thought such small things could end up in so much pain! Mind you with the swelling, they aren't that small either!!

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
I Can;t believe I get to post here!!! Everything is going good, i have slight morning sickness...although it's not in the morning, but you will never hear me complain. our 7 week ultrasound is 4/4 and I think I will feel alot less nervous then. I must confide in you ladies that one day I wasn't sick at all and felt totally normal that I took another test to make sure I was still pregnant, DP thinks I am nuts. I am so in shock of the out pouring of support from everyone, when we told DP's mom we were trying she did not speak of it ever, never mention it so we took it as she dissaproved. Well she was the most happy! on Easter she bent down & told my tummy happy easter. The DR also doubled my thyroid meds and I have to stay on the Metforin until I am 12 weeks, my pants are already snug and that scares me a little...isn't it too soon for this? I had to unbutton them yesterday at work to feel comfy. it's weird when you go from being flat down there to being puffy, I can't even suck it in it's really weird.
anyway hope everyone is doing good., 2moms Baby Olivia is beautiful!!

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
Hi Shannon, great to see you made it over here! Welcome to the ongoing obsessing with pg symptoms, it is so normal, especially after struggling to conceive! I really didn't relax the entire pg....not until I had Mason safely in my arms, and then a new set of worries began! That is wonderful that your DP's mom is actually very happy for you, so much nicer to have family to share the excitement and anticipation. My DP's mum and stepdad are our son's favorite people in the world - after his two mum's of course!
Laura, your little boy is adorable! Such a handsome baby. He makes the cutest of easter gifts! btw who is the other little one? I did a double take, thinking oh, did Laura & Carolyn have twins!?!

Re: March G/L Prego/Parents Chatty
Shannon, wanted to add that it isn't unusual after using injectables, for you to already be busting out of your waistbands. We started taking belly shots the moment I got my BFP and I already seemed to have a "baby belly" - it was the meds of course...but never went down, just eventually turned into a nice HUGE baby belly! Enjoy.
