Went to Foster Parent Association Meeting Last Night

and got elected to the position of secretary! It was the first time I ever attended. It was nice meeting fellow people in the community even though we aren't currently matched.

This counts as part of our yearly training requirements and they have snacks and childcare couldn't asked for more.

They had a fab guest speaker. I'm already learning so much. This time the speaker was talking about Early Intervention Services available for all 0-3 years old. They really focus on prevention so even if your child isn't delayed they can benefit. Really good information.

I left feeling like I'm really going to be a better parent because of this association.

I strongly rec. anyone going through adoption or fostering or even a concern parent to learn about resources such of these in your community!

Ok, off my soapbox!

Jen that is so AWESOME!!! I am so very happy for you. It is so good you are getting involved like you are. Maybe you can share some of the things you learn there with us. I know we may all be going in different directions with adoption (fostering,domestic, international) but I think at the end of the day we just want to create a great life for our children.

I will be sending you lots of good thoughts regarding your beta on Monday!!!

M - yes unless we find out we have quads in there yes we are planning on going forward with our foster and adoption plans! We always wanted 3 to 4 kids and have decided even with a sucessful IVF that our remaining kids would come from adoption.
