.............................................
Our agency emailed us to see if we were interested in the Columbia program. We said that we really weren't because we wanted an infant and because I have children from a previous marriage the youngest child we could adopt was 4-5 years old.
Well guess what. Because of all the happenings in the Guatemala program, the orphange is willing to let us adopt an infant!!!!!!!! AND the program is $10,000 less that Guatemala, AND we get to stay on all 3 referral lists for the price of 1.
We will be trying IOA, so we will still have to work on that profile. (HELP Megan!!)
We will be waiting for a referral from Columbia (the wait is 4-12 months for the referral than 2 weeks to travel), and also at the top of the referral list of Guatemala opens up in a few months. (Which I am pretty sure it won't).
Talk about the best of all 3 worlds...LOL!
Then to top it all off, I was selling some of my kids clothes at our local "childrens clothing exchange" and the lady that was buying the clothes was making small talk with me and I was telling her I was cleaning out closets to keep busy after the Guatemala adoption fell through. Her 16 niece just had a baby and brought it home from the hospital, but wasn't sure what she wanted to do. So I told her we were home study approved and gave her my information if she decided to not parent. I am sure nothing will come of this, but it just topped my day off!
So, good news all around.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. They helped for sure.
Hugs,
Nicole
