Weekend Update

We did stuff around the house and just goofed around most of fathers day. ...
We did stuff around the house and just goofed around most of fathers day. I got dragged to a parade on Sunday and didn't bring sunscreen and am absolutly FRIED. My sunburn may have to delay our amusment park trip.
Working this week and trying not to jump everytime the phone rings. They did call on Friday with a travel question, but hadn't heard anything about a date.
Yesterday we got back from our travels (Blacksburg, VA and Orlando, FL - what a combo). Made our last plane with about 2 minutes to spare! Yikes! Jadon used to sleep on flights when he was young - actually he still does - very easy to fly with - Jarrett on the other hand loves to wiggle and flirt with as many passengers as possible. Since we were flying SW and we're so late we didn't get seats together and I (with Jarrett) was shoved between a mother/daugther pair that were constantly passing things across me and sitting diag. so no armrest for me! They must have thought I was nutso cuz Jarrett loves to comfort feed (especially when he can't move) so I would nurse him every few minutes or so just to keep the fussiness down to a min.
While in Florida Jarrett meet Mickey for the first time and we visited Seaworld and the new Aquatica Park - I think this is a favorite for everyone. Jarrett loves to swim.
On a foster note, we will officially end that journey this summer (at least for a little while) as DH accepted a new job in Blacksburg - I'm not sure how soon we will start again because we need to be settled and most states have a residency requirement to even start the whole process over (including the icky homestudy) also I'm not sure what the need is there - much smaller area. I do know our family is not complete (or at least it doesn't feel it yet). K - are you ready for some weekend get togethers (5 hours isn't so bad if we meet somewhere in the middle).
Nicole, I hope you heal from your sunburn and you get to the amusement park soon! Also I'm sending phone ringing vibes but trying to filter them to agency travel plans!
Congrats to DH on the new job! I like that area of the country.
The sunburn isn't too bad, most just annoying to look at and sore to the touch.
I also forgot to add, I had myself a big old cry as I turned on the TV Saturday night and "The Notebook" was on. I was a boo-hooing throughout the WHOLE thing. I love that movie. In my next life I want to come back looking like Rachel McAdams.
We had a fun weekend. We had our agency visit, which I mentioned in another post.
We went down to Columbus and stayed downtown. We visited the short north art district, the brewery district and the old historic German Village. Lots of walking and some good food and wine.
Nicole, hope the sunburn gets better. I'e burned a few times already. Not sure why the sun is so strong this year?

This weekend L took a shotgun class and I went to visit with the group of people we will travel with, well that stirred up a bunch of emotions, but it was great to meet everyone and then we left for the beach.
Nicole, I hope your sunburn heals fast, I mean weren't you one the of ones reminding me about sun screen, tisk, tisk girl. (smiling)
Jenn, I would love a weekend visit. Keep me posted on your move, I'm sure by the time you get down her and get settled in I'll have brought the baby home.
Smitty, Glad your weekend was fun, I love going into some historic towns and walking around and just making a day out of it.
L is at a conference right now and I home cleaning the house, last night we had severe thunderstorm watches and for some stupid reason we left our windows WIDE OPEN when we left for the beach and dinner, well needless to say as dinner was set on the table the clouds opened up with 40 mile an hour winds and rain, we got out of the rest. in record time drove home at dangerous speeds in like next to zero visibility to find huge puddles of rain all over the house and stuff just blown everywhere. So we moped all the floors up and now I have to clean all the dirt that blew in the house. I swear that is so unlike us, we clearly were not thinking right. All I can say is lesson learned.

Our weekend was good, had a calm Father's day...nothing special.
But the good news is that I am suppose to get our homestudy done this week. The SW called me last Thursday to let me know. I registered for the CPR and First Aid classes, so we are closer to get on that list!!!!
Also, remenber the test that I took last month for a state job...just got the results...85% not 100% but good enough ...so now I just need the call for the interview, so send me those kind of vibes!
K, I hate when that happens...one time I left my windows open while I went to the store....when I came back everything was a mess...
Jenn, Congrats in the new job...so sad that you will have to leave your house after all the projects that you did!!!...but I know that you need a change. Glad to hear that all of you had a good vaca!!!

Techinically - wasn't a vaca - but a work trip (conference in Orlando) with 2 weekends tacked on to either end. The Virginia part was to see if they (new company) could convince us to move there (kinda like a paid courting session). I'm sad to leave my DS's school because its really great - expensive but great! DH first day is August 4th - so he and probably Jadon will be moving first unless a miracle happens and our house sells quickly. I don't want Jadon having to switch schools - man the last time I moved was before kids - it definitely gets so much more complicated. The movers are coming with the first round of packing towards the end of the month. We have people coming over to do all the stuff to make the house the most sellable (yard, stanley cleaner for deep cleaning our tiles, new carpet, some new paint etc.) The new job is paying for another round of paid house hunting and I'm not sure when we are going to fit that in . . . can you tell I'm stressed!
Congrats Mely - on passing that test hope the call comes soon for interview. Also WTG - on seeing the finish line and almost being on the list. Soon you will have more kiddos in your house!
Teece - sounds like a great weekend. I want one like that.
Kris - hope the clean up isn't too much. I can't imagine meeting with your future travel buddies - I get emotional just seeing a parade and that has nothing personal to me - this is your future.
