Update (pregnancy mentioned)

As some of you recall, we found out we were expecting after having our adopted son home for 3 days. Well according to my last cycle we thought I was about 12 weeks. We had an appointment yesterday and the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat. He sent me to get an ultra sound and wow what a relief, baby was there jumping all over the place and we could see the heart beating. According to baby's measurements, I'm only 10 weeks 4 days as opposed to 12 weeks so that is why the doppler didn't pick up the heartbeat. All is as well as can be expected. Yeah!!!! My due date is July 9th so Isaac and baby will be closer to 9 months apart.

How come I didn't know that you were pregnant??!

Congratulations!!!

You are one of those stories people always tell us... "Yeah, I have this friend that got pregnant the minute she adopted."

Sorry you had to have that terrible scare.

I had something similar at 14 weeks when I was at the hospital to have my cerclage put in. The nurse could not find the baby's heartbeat, try after try. And then so another nurse tried and couldn't find it. About that time I was completely dying. But, the doc brought in a portable u/s machine and there she was, wiggling away and healthy. But in the waiting time, it was some of the worst time of my life. Sorry you had to experience that.

Amber, same thing happened to us too only I was 36 (but was 39) weeks along. They couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler either. Just happened she was so big and turned just right....by that time she was so big that there wasn't much movement anymore. Glad it was just a scare and not the real thing!

I am so glad you got to see the baby moving around! 9 months apart isn't so bad.

It will lead to lots of questions...LOL!!

I am so glad this PG is going good, I can only imagine how scared you were when that happened. So glad it all worked out and that your all doing good!!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy and your new son! I'm glad that they were able to find the h/b and everything is fine
