Icon7 Update on my foster kiddos

Babies had their 6 month check up on Monday. Hannah is now 13lbs 10oz (still a little peanut) Jacob actually lost 3 oz from 2 weeks ago when I took him to the doctor for the imaginary rash but he is still a heffy 19lbs 6 oz. Hannah just happend to develop a fever 103.4 on this day so we skipped shots and I have to take them back next week. Ped wants to continue therapy as they are a little behind developmental but normal given what they went through the first 2 months of life.

David started kindergarten and is doing pretty well - given all the changes. I finally have a pysch eval scheduled in September hopefully he will get the help he needs now. Parent visits are down to two times a week for him but remain at 3 times for the twins. He is actually becoming more cuddely with me asking me for hugs and kisses. The biggest shocker is that he called me Mom this past week! Hopefully, the temper tantrums will continue to get shorter and less frequent and I will have less bloody noses!

I'm still having problems juggling the schedule as I have 4 kids going to 3 schools and I'm still working fulltime and my DH is traveling pretty much 100%. I'm having a hard time finding any me time! I don't think its going to get any better any time soon so I'm going to have to find the time!

Parents pleaded no contest in court this past week which means that the treatment plan has officially begun next court date is in Dec. Caseworker says that is the hearing that determines if the kids will be going back or if adoption is an option. I have heard several time they are more interested in getting David back than the twins - but I don't want to get my hopes up about adopting any of them (trying to protect my heart). I'm still thinking one of the many relatives will be given perference even though I have been told that everyone is amazed at how well and adjusted these kids are doing in my home.

Ok thats my book! Back to work!

Well of course they belong with you! I certainly hope that is how it turns out. We are going through the process of this right now.

Good to hear that things are better tantrum wise. And boy are those twins cutie-pies! The fact that everyone is doing so well and thriving should speak volumes to the powers that be. What are you doing for them is invaluable.

Hope you can find some time for yourself. You gotta take care of yourself!

Oh Jenn, I just love your updates!!!

I am so glad to hear David's tantrums are getting less and he is becoming more cuddly, I think he is finally learning how to trust and is also learning what unconditional love is all about. Those twins are so cute and I can not believe how big Jacob is...what a little cutie!!!

I know I say this all the time but girl you are one power house, I wish you could send me just an ounce of your energy some days.

I wish I lived closer so I could help you out, I know how important me time is especially with 4 kids and one on the way.

Keep us posted!!!
