Hi,

Well we don't have a definite date yet for travel but the agency e-mailed us yesterday and gave us a little bit of an update. (Nicole, Girl you got some powers)

They hope to have out I600's filed in the next few weeks. The only problem with that is the department that completes the I600's say they have 60 business days to complete that paperwork and they have been taking the 60 business days plus some. OY VEY!!! That would have us traveling in August or September.

I hope it happens faster then that my nerves are about shot.

On a another note though I found this site in Vietnam that makes handmade quilts and I might have one made so that when we arrive it will be ready for pick up. I would love to have something handmade to give the baby when she gets older from her country.

Exciting!!! Oh and the agency gave us the names of the other families who would be traveling with us so it would be a total of 4 families. I might host a BBQ as a getting to know you. Is that corny??

Oh my gosh---this adoption thing just might work out after all...Ok I'm not getting to excited yet but wow we are one step closer then we were before.

I know it's a rough road, but you are getting there!

I would totally come to your BBQ party. I think it's a great idea! Plus you are building relationships with families for you little one too, with kids who will have the same history/connection as her.

Congrats, now I really hope they don't take the whole 60 business days to complete the paperwork. Maybe Nicole can give you a hand again. Hey Nicole how about working your magic on us, the teleconference isn't until 3:15 (central time) so as you can imagine I can't wait to hear if we were chosen or not.

As for the bbq I say go for it. It'll be nice to get to know everyone and as someone mentioned earlier you'll be building a relationship with families that are going through the same things as you!

When did you file your I-600? Ours has been filed and we have our I171H already to go.

I know each country works differently.

See Nicole they changed things a little bit in Vietnam but we applied for an i600 here and got our approval the i797 and now in vietnam we need to get kinda like a second i600 approval and the reason they now do an approval over there to because they investigate to make sure everything is on the up and up (no baby trafficing, stealing or buying). I mean i underderstand it and i appreciate it but man it doesn't help with the wait. I'm getting impatient the longer we wait the more nervous L get about the baby not being healthy, i think she wants to run and hide and not ever be a mommie right about now. :gaah

K, I think that the idea of the quilt is excellent as the BBQ too!...you know one of my friend adopted a boy from Russia and she bought for him a little present from Russia (17 of them) that she will be giving him one each year...I think that idea is super neat since every year he can get something from where he came from ...so yes the quilt will be one of her most valuable and special!
