Icon12 Some good news today...

After the trauma of having to turn down a referral L and I did alot of talking about the situation and discussed things that happened that we didn't really understand and we hoped our agency might change or explain to us.

So L called the agency today to talk to them since we are A LOT more level headed about it now. And the agency informed us they are changing some of the protocol to prevent this from happening to another family. Before referrals they will be running a full panel of blood test on the children so you'r not seeing pictures, videos and then bloodwork, it will go bloodwork, pictures and videos.
The other good thing is they think the baby will have a forever home very soon and that we may get a referral sometime in the next two weeks. They also said we might be traveling with the family that will take the baby and wanted to know if we are ok with that. We said we would be just fine with that and we are so happy to hear he will have a wonderful family to love him. I have to say girls, hearing they have a perspective family lined up for him was MUSIC to my ears and it really gave my heart peace. The only thing we did ask was that the family who takes him not know that we turned him down and she said they will know another family turned him down but won't know who it is. Which is fine with me.

So please keep your fingers crossed that all continues to go smoothly for everyone!!!

I feel alot better after this conversation!!
TGIF!!!

Side note because I need to be cleaning and I am procrastinating. L and I are going to try some Sushi tonight. We normally eat like your California roll with pita bread, cumcumber, lettuce and carrots so not real adverturous but we are feeling brave so we might try an eel roll or something tonight. WISH US LUCK!!!

ok I better run---Talk to you later!

That's wonderful news and I am hoping you will get another referral very soon

Also I would hope they would change their protocol so this won't happen to someone else

good luck with the sushi

That sounds like the silver lining in the storm cloud, I'm glad that some good can come out of your hardship and that baby has found a home and that your baby is coming so soon! (wow talk about a horrible run sentence - hope there are too many English teachers out here)

Oh Kris - Please have some Sushi for me!!!!!! I'm sooooo jealous I want so bad - its on the bad list for me! Spicy tuna rolls are really good!

Oh wow. This is just some fantastic news girl. I am so very happy to hear that your heartache is eased. And I just know your baby referral is coming up really quickly.

Spicy tuna! I agree eel is rubbery and just downright weird. IMO!

I'm so glad to hear the little guy has a family lined up. I bet you are relieved.
What do you mean that you might be traveling with the family? Oh, I guess you mean if you get a referral in the next few weeks you will go to where the baby is?
Question: are you adopting as a single parent then Lu will do a second parent adoption? That's the problem with me & DP having a civil union - it makes international adoption out of the question. Absurd & wrong, but true.

Well girls we had our sushi it was so YUMMIE!! No tuna roll this time but we did have eel and it was ok, but we did love the soft shell crab sushi and shrimp and something else, it was all so yummie....we had something called a catepillar and it had eel in it, not alot but a little and it was so Spicy and good. Anyway all in all a good experience for us inexperienced sushi eaters.

Laura- Actually L will do the adoption and I will do a second parent when we get home. It is a pain but I'm just glad I'll have some legal rights.

We had taken these support classes called Maybe Baby and a lawyer told us not to do a civil union or anything like that because it would make the adoption process pretty hard so we held out maybe we'll have one once the family is complete...I know a little backwards but hey - who said I was ever the type to do things in the right order.
