Default So, I'm new

to this section of the board. I just finished my 2nd IVF cycle and according the the hpt tests i took, i'm not pregnant. I still need to go through my beta testing though. My name is Jen and i'm 34 from NJ ! I am married to my high school sweetheart going on 8 years now. We have a gorgeous son Ryan who will be 5 in June!!

I guess i'm looking on where to begin with adoption. I know my husband will still want to do our last IVF cycle that we have but I still want to get started on the process! Any info would help us !!!

:Welcome Jen!!!

First I want to say I am very sorry to hear about the failed IVF cycle. I hope that the next one takes! I will def keep you in my thoughts!!!

You actually have alot of options when it comes to adoption. Do you hae any thoughts on whether you want to do domestic, fostering to adopt or international adoption?

The one think I thought was really stinkie about going from TTC to adoption is the whole research process had to be completely started all over again to see what would work best for my family. There are just so many options out there.

You can check out helpful resources thread above, also take a look at some of the agencies in your area alot of time the agencies websites will give you a really good idea of how each program runs. We have a good number of ladies here and each one exploring adoption through a different avenue.

Sorry this isn't more indepth but I didn't want to bore you with details you may already know.

and we are glad to have you hear with us!

Welcome! We're doing domestic adoption & were so overwhelmed we decided to use an adoption consultant. We have done our 1st homestudy meeting and have been filling out paperwork. April 2nd is the mtg. w/ our consultant where she will suggest which agencies to which we should apply. I'm pretty new at this to but am happy to help in any way I can!

Jen! I just finished posting on your bfn thread on the IVF board! And here you are, already here.

It is really overwhelming to start. But, you just need to take it one step at a time and before you know it, you'll be holding your sweet baby. Just look at the things you can do today... To start with you can try contacting some of the agencies in your area. They will send you info either email or snail mail. You will have to look into the pros and cons of going private or agency.

But, today that is enough to start with!

Hi Jen and welcome to the group. I will also be doing one more ivf but like you am ready to start thinking about adoption again (we adopted our ds 8 years ago). If you are planning on a domestic adoption then you want to start considering if you will adopt from your state's foster care system or go with a private adoption. Once you decide that you will have a better idea of what to do next. Good luck.
