Hi Cathy,
I was just reading over on Ambers thread and I saw your new siggy and I have to say I just love it. Alex is getting so big and he his such a handsome little boy. I don't normally call boys handsome but oh man he really, really is.

I imagine he is almost 7 months now, what kinds of things is he doing now?

Hi Kristine

Thanks so much for asking. I have been so busy between work and Alex that I don't get to post here near as much as I would like to!

Yes, I am very biased but I do think Alex is quite handsome myself. just love him to pieces. He is 6 1/2 months old. He just got his first tooth this week and is eating cereral now and ready to start Stage 1 Foods.

But its been a rough week, he is sick. He has ear infection, Bronchiolitis and possible RSV. We have to give him breathing treatments every 4-6 hrs with albuterol via the nebulizer. He is also getting the Synagis shot once a month during the winter months. If you don't know what Synagis is, its a VERY, VERY Expensive injection that helps protect preemies from getting RSV. Each shot is $3000.00 so our 10% co-pay is $300 for each shot!!! But of course it is all worth it. He is starting to feel better. I have to go out of town this weekend for my cousins wedding in Arizona so I am very, very nervous leaving him for the very first time and him being ill but I know Daddy will take wonderful care of him!

Well I could go on and on....

Thanks again for asking! hope things are well with you and I will try to keep in touch more

Cathy

He really is a beautiful boy.

Lilly had RSV at four months. So, I know how very awful it can be. We were in the hospital for four days and they sent us home on oxygen and breathing treatments... poor little thing. But, it was so much better to just be home! She did recover fast though once we were through the toughest parts.

Hang in there, he'll get better quickly. Babies are such fast healers.

Thanks Marian...its good to talk to others that have been through it. I am just anxious for him to get healed up and back to his happy self

Kristine-yes it will be the longest Daddy has been with Alex by himself but I am sure he will do fine and the grandparents and friends are on call to help out

Oh, I was going to add that stuff like your weekend away is one of the best things you can do for Dad. He really gets to know his baby that way. Don't be surprised if nothing gets done in the house. And by nothing, I mean absolutely nothing. But, you should have a very happy boy and an exhausted husband when you get home.

Enjoy yourself, you need to take some time to yourself sometimes.
