Erin! I've talked to you a couple of times over on the IVF board.

It is so exciting to get started with your adoption, isn't it? It's like you can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Have you decided what type of adoption you are pursuing?

Hope your adoption journey is very short!

Hi Erin,

Congratulations on your decision to adopt, it so wonderful!
My DH and I have 2 little boys (brothers) we adopted via the foster care. If you do happen to decide to go this route, please feel free to ask me any questions about the process.
I wish you the very best in which ever adoption route you do take.
There are so many wee ones out there that deserve love and a home.
Get ready as your home will soon be filled with even more love and joy!

Good luck to you guys, keep us posted

thanks for the kind words,
We decided to adopt through the foster care system in our area. I am still not sure all that is required of us, our home, training, ect. We are still trying to decide if we want to wait a few months or go ahead with the application. According to the application, the orientation and home visits can take a while (6 months).
HOw long was any of your processes? Especially those who adopted via foster care?
Please any info or advice to prepare us for what to come is appreciated.
thanks

From the time we submitted our application until the time we were approved was about 2 months. It all depends on how fast you complete your paper work and how soon you can get in for your homestudies. Good luck.
