Meeting Lilly's aunt tomorrow...

I am so intimidated.

Lilly has an aunt that lives in another state that has stated that she is interested in adopting Lilly. She has not contacted the caseworker but two times in the last seven months so I was not looking at her as a real threat. KWIM?

Well, it turns out she is in town and wants to meet Lilly tomorrow.

So, we are meeting her. We're meeting at the mall. Our caseworker is going to be there with us.

I could really use some positive thoughts sent my way about noonish tomorrow. I really need her to understand how much we love Lilly and how much we want to keep her. I need her to see that Lilly is in a great place.

I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Oh Marian,

I can totally understand why you feel a little intimidated I bet infact I know I would feel the same way but I also know today will go just great and the aunt will be able to see how much happiness and love you have brought into Lilly's life.

Good Luck I will be praying for you a sending you lots of good vibes.

I hope you'll update us when you return and remember were all cheering you and Lilly on!!!

You will be in my thoughts. 2 contacts in 7 months - she is an aunt not a mommy. Would you be willing to allow continued contact? Maybe that would give her the comfort to allow your family to be the vital important role that you have been giving for Lilly and voluntary step back. These are the situations were I don't feel relatives should be given anymore priority over the foster parents. Lilly is thriving - I love the pictures - this newest one looks like you gave her a perm! Wow talk about curls!

I hope this makes sense - sometimes its hard to convey my actual thoughts through message boards.

Praying everything works out. Praying that once the aunt sees how much you love this little girl, she will realize this is where she belongs.

I will be saying LOTS of prayers that Lilly's Aunt realizes Lilly is at home w/ the greatest mom anyone could hope for! My thoughts are with you. I can only imagine how tough & nervewracking this is! PLEASE keep us posted!
