Thursday my social worker emailed to tell me that there may be a possible bmom that she would like to show our profile to. Bmom is a 19 year old Hispanic that came from Mexico recently. Bdad is still in Mexico, she has no family support, speaks no English and is due in July but could go sooner. Right now our social worker wants to get all the medical information before allowing our profile to go to her. They should be getting that today or tomorrow. Then dh and I can decide whether or not we want our profile to go out. I keep thinking "this could be it". But I know there will be other family profiles shown as well. God knows what's best so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Ok I'm not trying to be impatient but I don't want to bug you to much. What is a typical time frame for this all to take place? Just wondering...

Still no word yet, they probably haven't gotten all the info from the clinic yet on bmom. As far as time frame goes, are you meaning if this placement would take place??? Or do you mean domestic adoption in general? We were told the average wait for a baby is about a year. Sometimes it's less sometimes it's more. If we would be selected for this baby, the baby is duein July but could go earlier so more than likely we would take the baby home from the hospital after the TPR is signed. After TPR is signed for the state the baby is born in, the bmom has 5 days to change her mind, after that the baby would be ours but official adoption could not take place until baby is at least 6 months old. But we aren't getting our hopes up as 2 other families will be shown, and maybe there will be something in her medical history that we will decide not to show our profile. I will keep you updated though! Thanks for the prayers!

Well it looks like this one may have fallen through. The sw went to the clinic but was only able to speak to them for a short time and got limited information. Birthmom has not contacted them as of today. They did indicate she was scared to go to the doctor as she doesn't have insurance, does not speak English, and is not a US citizen. This may be a case where she calls the agency after she has the baby. If that's the case the agency would pick the longest waiting family. So far now we're going with the idea that this is not the one for us. I pray another situation comes along soon.
