Icon6 How about a chatty thread......

I've seen it done on other boards and it will help people who need more posts with that as well.

I'll start.

We got lots of snow last night. I just got done shoveling this batch. We are supposed to get more tomorrow as well.
Remember how I said I started a support group in my town? It meets next week! I got some good response and people wanted to start this month instead of next month. We will see how many people show up though. You know me....ever the optimst.

What is everyone else up to today?

Nicole good idea, THANKS!!! As you know I desperately need a lot of posts....

Well our weather here has been in the 40's in the morning & night and then 70's during the day, I sometimes wished it snowed here though! I've also started my Christmas shopping, usually by this time last year I'd pretty much had it done but with the 2 little ones this year I am quite behind. Until now I wasn't much of an online buyer, everyone once in a while I'd buy something online but now I think most of my shopping is going to get done this way!

Oh...70 degrees sounds lovely. Sigh. It is 16 today and that is the high. Makes me ALMOST wish I still lived in LA.
Not really though.
I have alot of Christmas shopping done, but still have to buy for the kids. Man, they want big stuff and that is it. My DH and I need to have a nice dinner to ourselves to discuss what we are getting them. He has been working 10-15 hours a day for the last couple weeks. Last night he didn't get home until 12:30. He had left the house at 7:30 that morning.
We have to go get winter boots today. Yuck.

Good idea Nicole!

Just now starting my christmas shopping. Lu got one big present and then I'll get a bunch of little stuff for her. I have my list I just need to venture to mall which I love to do but I am just procrastinating.

I shoveled earlier today but I will probably have to do it again later on....

oops not paying attention to the time I have to run...we'll chat again later!!!

Great idea! Nicole, I'm east of you so I'm getting the same weather. It really snowed (6 inches) on Saterday and anouther 2 last night and more expected for tomorow and Saterday. Of course because we sold our nicer snowmoblie last year to help fun the IF treatments!

We get snow here on Christmas once in a very blue moon. Although it does cool down alot it's hard to get motivated for the Jolly Guy when it's the perfect day to go out and golf every day.

Send the snow our way. We'll take it.

So today I will be doing more shoveling.

Last night we got some holiday shopping done. We celebrate both Christmas and Hanukah around here so I had to go out and get some trinkets for the little ones around here. We went to Kohls and got some cute dresses for our friends daughters so hopefully they fit and they like them, sometimes it is so hard to buy for the little ones.

Ok, this is totally off topic but I need some opinions. We are going to have christmas dinner at our house this year for friends who live to far away from family so of all the friends we have one Vegetarian well she eats no pork, red meats and seafood but I want to have a ham. Is it ok to have a ham and not make a special dish just for her or should I go with the turkey and everyone can enjoy it? I would have pleny of side dishes for her to eat just not the main course. I swear around here every other person is a vegatarian and there is nothing wrong with that except it requires me to practically make a special dish for every person and that gets old real quick.

So what are your thoughts?

Vegitarian and eats turkey? I really hope I read that wrong. Anyways, to each their own right? I would make the ham. If that's what you want to make and you have other dishes then she is aware that you are not vegitarian but it's not like there won't be food to eat.

I myself hate ham. Not even kidding, my in-laws know this and what do they make EVERY holiday? Ham. No joke. So I load up on cheesy potatoes and other side dishes and have extra room for desert (not like I need extra desert)

If she was hosting the meal, what would she make as a main dish for herself? Maybe you could make a mini one. I myself and stoked when someone makes both ham and turkey so people have options. That's what I do (even though I swear every time that I'm not doing "all that" this time!)

I am spending the day with Kirsten and we are wraping christmas gifts for her 3 favorite friends and taking them with to playdates after naptime. You're right, buying for children is hard when they arn't yours. I had one heck of a time shopping. Good thing though, Kirsten was a big help!
