Great idea!
Thanksgiving is 2 parts for us (as are most holidays) the Saterday before (which is opening day of gun deer season here) we do the traditional dinner with DH's dad and step-mom and her kids and we do the same on Thanksgiving day with my moms family after the men come in from hunting.
We celebrate Christmas. X-eve we have my moms' family over for gifts and dinner and some card playing! Then we spend the night at my parents house so Santa can come and do breakfast and gifts with them. We spend X-day with DH's dad and family and low key at our own home X-nite so Kirsten can have a little down time. We spend the day after with her Godmother who comes home for the holiday.
We do absolutly nothing for New Years eve. I know.....boring right?
Oh and DH's mom, sister, and bro don't celebrate any holidays with us......not sure why but in 10 years, we've only had 1 x-dinner with them
