Icon10 Holidays coming up..

You know after today the holidays will just start rolling in...

Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Years.

What will you all be doing for the holidays?

Thanksgiving we are headed to the Outer Banks for the week with a bunch of my family and staying in this huge beach front home. It is so much fun, the house has everything you could ever need!!! We did this like 2 years ago and it was alot of fun and we had great weather so I am really looking forward to it.

I am not actually Jewish but we have alot of Jewish friends and I always consider myself to be Jewish at heart so we'll celebrate Hanukkah with them...even if it does seem insanely early this year.

Christmas is such a hard one here...we like decorating but waking up christmas morning and not having a child to share it with is so hard....so we will be staying the night at a friends house who has two kids so we can watch their little ones rip into all the presents.

New Year's well that is just to far away but in the past 4 years we have been home before midnight and I usually fall asleep on the couch and Lu wakes me up at midnight so I can watch the ball drop. I know...I know...so stinkin lame!!!

What about you?

Oh one more...When do you start your shopping? I usually pick things up here and there...this year Lu will be easy and the kids are easy it is my sister and my grandmother I have the hardest time with.

Great idea!

Thanksgiving is 2 parts for us (as are most holidays) the Saterday before (which is opening day of gun deer season here) we do the traditional dinner with DH's dad and step-mom and her kids and we do the same on Thanksgiving day with my moms family after the men come in from hunting.

We celebrate Christmas. X-eve we have my moms' family over for gifts and dinner and some card playing! Then we spend the night at my parents house so Santa can come and do breakfast and gifts with them. We spend X-day with DH's dad and family and low key at our own home X-nite so Kirsten can have a little down time. We spend the day after with her Godmother who comes home for the holiday.

We do absolutly nothing for New Years eve. I know.....boring right?

Oh and DH's mom, sister, and bro don't celebrate any holidays with us......not sure why but in 10 years, we've only had 1 x-dinner with them

Well this year we are not going to be at Disneyland for T-day like we planned. And actually I don't think we are even going to go to Phx with the rest of my family as Art has to work the day after. So, I guess I'll just make some of our favorite foods and we'll stay home.

Christmas eve is always with my sister, her two grown kids, and my dad at my house. This year my dad is going to be with his new wife for Christmas. But we do church each Christmas eve and then open most of our presents. Christmas morning we do more presents. And Christmas dinner is always at Art's brother's house and they do a major dinner with prime rib and all the fancy trimmings. Yum!

New Years is always with almost all of my family (like 27 of us) at my sister's house in Phx. It's always a very loud, rowdy, fun time.

Oy vey. Holiday talk already!!! Just kidding.

We have a crazy holiday schedule as we have to send the kids to their dads for part of the holiday.

We will have Thanksgiving with my parents and the kids will be there this year. We are going to the Mall of America the day after (as we have done every year since it has opened.)

Christmas, we do a fun gathering the weekend before, then the kids will go with their dad on X-mas eve and be with us Christmas day.

We don't do anything for New Year's Eve either.

Nothing special here!

Going home for Thanksgiving, but coming right back up that Friday, because it's the big A&M/Texas game!!

Who knows what Christmas holds...I am hoping to hang out around College Station and work a bit and maybe start volunteering/interning at CPS, instead of spending a month bored at home!
