Icon7 Hi All!

So what's going on with everyone lets get some updates....

No updates for us on the adoption front.

We went to the beach this past weekend for a friends birthday and had a really good time hanging out at teh ocean and going to funland with the kids...the weekend was a total 10 on the fun scale, we even ended up staying one extra day.

L company is going to be getting rid of nurse practioners so today they are supposed to be offering packages we are 99% sure she will be getting a package since they are closing down the center she works in, needless to say we are a little nervous about this but I am a true believer that all work out the way it should.

ok, what is going on in your neck of the woods?

Sounds like fun

We are doing ok. Alex has become very colicky so we had a very stressful weekend. Called the pediatrician but said there is not much you can do. But we did take him to the chiropractor yesterday and he said his C2 was out and put it back in and he has been great ever since. So I hope thats what it was and we can have our happy Alex back

This weekend Grandma is giving us a break and watching Alex so hubby and I can have a date night! I am so looking forward to it!

Cathy

Hi girls. Nothing too exciting here. We got back from the Islands and had a wonderful time. Lots of fun in the sun. Wish I was not back to work!

K- I'll keep good thoughts for L!
Cathy- Any plans for the date night? Glad Alex is on his way to feeling better.

Hope everyone is doing great. We have our first seminar tomorrow with a local agency. We did get a package from a California agency, and they are really pricey, but REALLY seem to be buttoned up. They are called the "Adoption Network Law Center", anyone hear of them? They spend a TON of $ on advertising/marketing to birth moms...

Have a good one!

Default Re: Hi All!

Anniversary weekend for us - we are calling all sort of favors in order to get some kid free time - the only sans kid time we have is at work and even that is being broken into with all the visitor that are involved in the case. We are averaging 5 separate visits to our home each month - I don't mean to complain but come on if their was this much supervision in their homes there wouldn't be a need for foster homes. I know they are just ensuring the well being of these kids but we were investigated throughly prior to getting our first foster kiddo I feel like we are being investigated - not the other way around! OK vent over!

The twins are 5 months old tomorrow and are talking away! They are starting to hold their own bottles and try to sit on their own! They give the most giant smiles except at cereal time! Ped told me to start them already - seems to help the boy sleep a little better at night - but man they would just both prefer their bottles!

I'm forever challenged with their brother and more than frustrated by people telling me that just because he isn't burning down the house that he is doing so well! He tends to throw these 45 minute temper tantrums in both public and private settings, he threw JJ off the trampoline, he lies consistently and even through his parents give him stuff 3 times a week he thinks we should buy him more stuff. In the last 3 months I think we have both one thing for Jadon that we haven't bought a comparable item for him and he still thinks he should get more.

I'm so proud of how Jadon is adjusting - he has to share everything from his toys, his room, even his mommy and daddy and I haven't heard a complaint from him. He is always making "presents" for the kids. Alas everyone thinks because he has had a good life so far that he should just of course be doing these things.

Both older boys will be starting new schools in a couple days so its school shopping time for us. I think I will be a mass of tears especially for Jadon - everytime I think about it I well up. Which is weird because he has gone to daycare/preschool since he was 12 weeks old!

Please pray that I will find the strength and wisdom on how to deal with the five year old - I feel like such a failure as a mother - ok back to work.

Sorry for such a whinning post - I try to be better next time!

Hope everything is well with everyone else and their baby's will be in your arms ever so soon!

Good to see updates from you all!
We found out over the weekend that the birthmother we had been called about took her baby home on Saturday. We were fine with it, expecting it actually.
We are waiting for 2 documents and then sending everything to the consulate to be approved and then we are officially on the "The List". I expect to be on the list about August 1. Referrals are taking anywhere from 1week to 6 months, so hopefully ours will be a short one.
I am taking the kids to the zoo with some friends today, so that will be fun. The kids leave for camp on Saturday for 2 weeks. Sigh....going to be lonely with out them, but they LOVE to go.
Then it is back to school shopping for 2 jr. highers. I sure can't wait to buy baby clothes again. Once we get that referral, watch out babies r us!!
Hope everyone has a good week.
Nicole

Nothing new here, still waiting. Haven't heard anything for quite some time now. We've been waiting 6 1/2 months. Hopefully the placements will pick up again soon.

We have a possible situation developing. An emom & edad are due late fall are looking at our profile & materials (and a few others) and will be setting up match meetings in 2 weeks after they take some time to think. They seem to be taking this very seriously!

Oh I love seeing all the updates from everyone.

L's job handed out notices as of right now they can either take a package which will pay you for 12 weeks or you can work until Oct. 08 and then your position will change and so will your pay. So as of right now she is going to try and hold out until Oct. 08 or until the adoption stuff is done which ever comes first. We just don't want to have to redue any paperwork because we are lazy

Anyway...

Cathy- I hope Alex is still feeling good and that you and DH are enjoy your date night. I think it is great you have family so close by that can help watch your little man. I hope once we bring the baby home we move back closer to my side if the family because there is nothing like family support in my opinion.

Smitty- You just got back from the islands---you lucky, lucky girl. What island did you go to. I love the islands so far I have been to Jamaica(2 times), St. Thomas, Curacau and the Bahamas loved, loved, loved them all. Good luck with the first adoption seminar, I haven't heard of that agency but that doesn't mean anything I didn't really research many agencies outside of maryland.

Jenn- Oh mys gosh you really have your hands full right now. I think you and DH really deserve a night out and if I lived closer I would totally help you out. "high 5" to Jadon for being such a sport in all of this you know sometimes I think people forget what it is like to be a kid and they act like the kid should act a certain way but Jadon is acting like a mture young adult and that is just awesome!!! He deserves extra kudos in my opinion. I'm so sorry the brother is still giving you such a hard time at first I would have said he is testing the waters, to see if you will love him or not but he has been in the home long enough that his guard should start to come down a little right? I mean it sounds like you include everyone in everything you do and at some point he has to start to realize you are there and a constant in his life. Is there any idea how long they will be with you? or any indication that they will be going back to bmom and bdad? I'm just wondering if he is just trying not to get attached and therefor pushing all your buttons in the mean time?

Nicole- Sorry to hear the bmom decided to take the baby home. I hope it all works out for them. You are just moving right along in the process now. Aug 1 will be here before you know it. I mean I can not believe all the talk of going back to school, I feel like the summer is just getting started. Time flies so fast, it is crazy. My sister always went to camp each summer and she loved it!

Amber- I'll be praying that your agencies referrals pick up soon. In the meantime pamper yourself and enjoy all the things in life that will stop once that little bundle of joy enters your heart and home. (I know that is what we have been doing)

bdunkadunk- I'll be thinking and praying for your family and the emom and edad! Keep us posted!!!

Ok, well I need to go check my lottery tickets, I'm hoping this is the winning one...
