Default Hello board

Ok ladies... I am making my big move to adoption boards from TTC boards. I can not handle another IUI, another 2WW, another negative test, another person asking my when we are going to have kids. As if the last 3yrs I was not spending my time testing, counting days, temping, testing, counting days temping... Oh & then of course there are the many hours spent at the Drs office getting IUIs(9 to be exact). Yes I am a bit bitter aout infertility but working on it! ( i blogged about it a few months ago... A day in the life of JP.....

Ahhhhhhhh with all that being said I am here & I hope not to be here long(meaning I hope this goes faster than the last long 3 yrs).

We havent even done a home study yet I am looking for an agency at the moment. If anyone wants to share theirs with me I am willing to listen to what ever advice you can give!!

to the adoption board! What type of adoption are you hoping to do?

My name is Marian and I did several IUI's too and then moved on to IVF. We did six IVFs before one finally worked and I have my DD. She is 4yo now. We tried five more IVF procedures after having our DD and all were BFN. We decided it was time for us to finally foster and hopefully one of these days, one of the babies we foster will stay forever. For the most part it has been a terrific experience except we just lost our 15 month old on December 26 to a maternal aunt. We were sure she was staying but that was not the way it worked out. But, right now, as fate would have it, we have her little sister who was born the end of December. She is three weeks old now. We're not sure yet what will happen with her.

I hope your adoption goes quickly and smoothly! If we can be of any help, just ask away. Hopefully someone here will have an answer for you.

:Welcome

I too have been through the whole ttc rollercoaster 24 IUI's and 1 IVF, had two BFP's but both ended in a m/c. After the last m/c just couldn't go on like that anymore, I needed my life and my body back and I needed to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I am doing international adoption and just waiting for a referral now.

If there is anything we can help with don't be afraid to ask all the ladies are great here and really have alot of knowledge.

Good Luck and Keep us posted!

Jen-
Hey lady. Such a long time since I have "talked" to you. I often wonder where your journey has led you, but I am so glad you found us here.
All these ladies have a wealth of information regarding adoption, fostering, etc.
I was just thinking about you the other day because my DH and I are trying to decide where to take a quick detour trip on our way home from our first trip to Russia. London or Paris. I remember your wonderful trip to Paris!!
I'll send you a PM and tell you about what we have learned about domestic vs. designated vs. international.

Hugs,
Nicole

Thanks Ladies...!
Kristine--- wow 24 iuis..... I will never complain about the 9 I did again! There is no way in the world we could done that many. (physically & financially)

We havent decided if we are doing domestic or international. I received soem info in the mail yesterday from an agency that does international & their price is outragious. I cant remember what country they focus on(Russia maybe?) & they run $40k-$54K per adoption. Including travel expences. That is way out of our ballpark.

My first step is to find out where & how to get a homestudy started. That is what I am working on today when I return from the eye dr!

hi and welcome, i too did iuis but all ended with bfn, so here we are adopting, we are going through children services of our state, if money is an issue i would look into your children services, it is definitley not as expensive, although more than likely you do not get an infant this way.

good luck

to the adoption board. Many of us here know just how much infertility sucks. I only did one round of IVF however that was after 3 losses and almost 4 yrs of ttc. Good luck finding the right agency. Ask around too. Word of mouth is how we found ours and we are very happy. There are a lot of touch choices ahead of you.
