Icon6 Finally....some news

What a day. We have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Let me start out at the beginning of my day. Another person quit at our work and they asked me to take over. I said I really couldn't committ to anything long term.

Got home.....got a call from a friend. She wanted to know if we would be interested in adopting a baby that someone she knows daughter just had, because the daughter wasn't sure she wanted to raise it. We talked about it and thought sure why not, it probably isn't going to happen.

Ladies, I am almost 100% sure it won't happen, but it never hurts to explore option B right??? So we are still waiting to hear from the girls parents to see if they want to meet us or if they decided to help her parent the child. Either way is fine with me.

Got the mail...........HOMESTUDY IS HERE!!! So now, it is off I go to the Secy of States office tomorrow to get it all authenticated and mailed off to the Guatemalan consulate for that part.
I hope to have a resolution to the plan B option soon, because when we send in the dossier, we have to attach a $12,000 check as well. GULP.

Get home tonight from standing in line at the Post Office to get prepaid envelopes and such and my cell rings. My husbands cat (who still lives at home with his parents because my kids and I are allergic) died. 19 years old and lived a good life. My DH is sad, but knows Ceaser is in a better place.

Now I am off to do laundry and go to bed. Let's see if I can sleep....LOL!!

If you made it through this far thanks! Could I ask one more favor? Say a prayer for that birthmom that God speaks to her heart and sends her down the right path whether that is with us or not?

Hugs,
Nicole

Yikes, Nicole - what a day! I'm not even sure where to begin responding!

I'm so sorry about Ceasar I have a 15 y.o. cat who I just adore.

2 possible adoptions?! I think it is smart to persue both. The way things go, who knows which may or may not fall through. I will say a prayer for all of you. What ever is meant to happen will happen. Keep us posted with all your updates!

said here. Oh, I am so praying the right thing for ALL of you works out.

Sorry about DH's cat. I know how awful that is. My cat was 17 when she passed on. Broke my heart.

And your homestudy is done!!! How terrific is that???

Hope you can sleep! I'm not sure I could. WAY exciting stuff happening.

Oh my gosh girl you have it all going on!!!

First I am so sorry to hear about your DH's cat, I don't have any cats because is allergic but I have two dogs and I just know how sad I'll be when they pass on.

on the homestudy being done, that is GREAT news!!! I know you must feel like a big old weight being lifted off your shoulders.

I will say a prayer for the girl and her baby that she is able to find strength through this very tough time.

I think you guys are doing the right thing by persuing both options. I can't wait to follow the true begining of your journey.

Keep us posted!!! I hope you were able to get some sleep last night and you didn't have this going on in your head!!!

Wow you sure are busy. Amazing about the birthmom. The only thing I would be leary about is whether or not the birthmom is getting counseling. I just don't like to know that the parents are helping her with her decision and she may not be getting appropriate counseling. If she would happen to want to place I would highly recommend this first. I will say many prayers for birthmom.
