Icon7 It is FINALLY here!

Finally.

We start our class tomorrow. We found out that our homestudy appointment was moved to May 2nd. Not too bad, but I just want this to go fast.
Does anyone have a good time table of how long it took for you to get the documents all together to be submitted for the dossier?
I wanted to be ready to submit the dossier by June 1. Is that pushing it too much??

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Nicole

I am so excited for you things will be moving along now.

I'm not sure of all the paperwork needed for Guat but June 1st might be pushing it maybe more like July 15th or 3a bit but each state is different so I can't say for sure. However I will be you on all the way!!!

L and I started our homestudy and paperwork on like October 15th and we finished and had the dossier off to Vietnam on March 9th so that is 5 months.

It took three months for the homestudy and then 6 weeks to get back our I-600 approval and one week to have the forms authenticated we paid to have them expedited.

Good Luck!!! Keep us posted and be sure to celebrate each milestone!!!

Well, if anyone could have it done that fast, I'd have to say it would be you! Good luck in getting things done.

Thanks ladies. K- I think July 15th is a good date.
We had an interesting time at our classes. Some good, some REALLY bad. We haven't gotten a feel on our SW yet. When she found out my profession (I am a SW) she kind of had an "Oh great" look on her face.
We are wondering if we need to be looking at Columbia instead of Guatemala for a variety of reasons, but we have a few weeks to make that choice.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Nicole,
Sorry to hear you got some bad stuff going on at your classes but glad to hear you are not discouraged and you continue to move along. My first class I went to I was less then excited about things but once I got moving along I realized they like to just give all worst case scenarios.

Columbia would be cool - I don't think I know anyone who has adopted from Columbia so it will be very exciting hearing about your jouney there, if that is what you decide to do.

Oh and the social worker, I wouldn't worry to much they just probably feel the pressure like they really have to work by the book because they have someone in their own field sitting in front of them.

Good Luck --- Keep us posted!!!
