I have not, but it really is done quite often. Especially when CPS is involved.

Are you looking at adopting an "in family" baby?

Hi Erin!

I was with you for a while over in the IUI forums. Like you I am done with IF treatments and I am actually getting a hysterectomy for my endo in August. So....We have always wanted to adopt- even aside from getting the hysterectomy. So I am going to be joining you over here throughout my process with adoption as well =)

Right now I am in the investigative and saving stage =)
We will probably officially start our process early to mid '08.
Anyhow, it's good to see you over here and good luck with your adoption process!

Hi Erin, Ok so I am doing a little reading and so far what I am finding is that in family adoption is alot easier then out of family adoption like you may not even need to have a homestudy done. Also looks up Ohio's adoption laws. Will the baby be born in Ohio or in another state? I'm almost positive you can do this with a lawyer and not have to get an agency involved you'll just need to call around to a couple of lawyers to see what the cost are.

I hope this helps get you started in the right direction if I come across anything else I'll let you know. Good Luck!

I wanted to also add you might want to look into counseling for everyone involved especially if this is a realitive who lives close by, just so you can set some ground rules and really develop healthy relationships. Good Luck and please keep us posted I hope it all works out!

thanks, yes she lives in ohio, not far at all from me, counseling is also something i have been looking into b/c i dont know how to make sure we are all on the same page, she has not once given us a reason to worry but i still do, i want to be prepared if something goes wrong. Nothing can be done till the day the baby is born so i think this is the worst part b/c until the day of signing over rights she can change her mind so for now it is just the waiting game. The Baby is due December.
thanks for listening to me
