Default Domestic Agencies- any suggestions?

DH and I have been researching International Adoption exclusively. But the costs- we are talking around $40K! Does anyone have any domestic resources we can look into? I think we are looking for a child 1 year or younger. We dont necessarily need a newborn but it would be ok if it was. Some of you know my story and I just dont think DH can do foster care. His mother was in foster care and there was a HUGE custody battle for her at age 3 and it still affects her to this day. Ok we are starting the domestic research. Man this is all new. Thanks for any help.

We went with Bethany Christian Services. The flat rate for our agency is 20,000. But I know if our homestudy expires we have to renew it for $500.00. It is only good for one year. We have been waiting for a baby for 7 months so far. We are open to a baby 0-9 months. Keep researching until you find an agency you feel is right for you.

I agree, keep researching until you find the right one. You will know it when you do, it just feels like home for lack of a better way of putting it.
We are doing international and yes, the cost is alot. We took money out of savings and took a home improvement loan out on our house as well. We will get $10,000 of it back when we do our taxes so that will help as well.
Our parents offered to help us, but there are too many religious strings attached, so we opted to do it on our own.

Good luck!

We are using A Act of Love out of Utah. I know a family who have adopted 2 children from there and so far things have been good. We have run into no problems and their fees are reasonable. They don't have a flat fee but do give you a fee chart of things that have to be paid in steps. Let mek now if you want me to send you a breakdown of costs!!
