She barely graduated high school this week and she "accidentally" got pregnant. She's a little over six weeks (didn't see a heartbeat on the u/s, but she was measuring 6w2d).

This makes me crazy! She is no more able to raise a baby than Avery. I know some teen moms end up being great mothers but this girl is not one of them.

I've tried to talk to her about adoption already but she is adamant about her and her boyfriend of three months raising this baby and living happily ever after.

I don't mean to sound catty but holy crud. It took me 14 YEARS to get pregnant and here we have this child that shouldn't be pregnant just having a baby at the drop of a hat.

Okay, I guess I feel better now just getting it off my chest...

feelings are def not alone. I went to a barbecue last eve and there was a couple there
"kids" 18 yrs who were engaged...giggling acting plan ole silly......just blabbing out

they were so immature I couldn't stand being in the same room.
Marriage itself is such a hugh commitment let along kids raising kids if you kwim?

M, I know what you are saying, it is never fair is it? It does always seem like the ones who shouldn't have children right now get pg at the drop of the accident hat but those who really want them either can't have any or have to fight tooth and nail to have/get them! It's early yet, she maybe will see motherhood is selfless and she's not ready. If she doesn't, she wil see soon enough!

Oy Vey...I'm right there with you Marian...I have a family of fertiles so the accident story comes up alot among members of all ages and it is frustrating.

I hope she soon really realizes the the true gift she has been given and rises to the occassion!!!

, Last winter my hubby had to teen cousins (sisters), both pregnant "on accident", one with her SECOND. Grrrr... I know everything happens for a reason, but it doesn't make the hurt any easier!

Yeah, it's a frustrating situation....

I have a colleague whose girlfriend got pregnant accidentally (she's due in a couple of months) and I was having a really hard time when everyone was congratulating him and celebrating that they were becoming parents.

Oh hun... I know how hard it must be! I get so concerned about teen parents as well... *hugs* to you
