I just wanted to congratulate on your baby boy. I was wondering if you could tell me how long you waited for your baby. I've been waiting almost 5 months and it is so hard. I keep trying to tell myself God will bless us when the time is right, but obviously my timing isn't God's timing. The wait is HARD. I know our profile is being shown and our agency placed 18 families in 2006 so I guess that's something to look forward to, but it's still hard. Thanks for listening.

Wow 18 placements is excellent and great news!!!!

I am from a smaller town in Iowa, but my agency only had 5 placements last year!!

I would say we waited a total of about a year and half. When we first contacted them in the fall of 2005, they weren't accepting any new people until Jan of 06. Then by the time we got our homestudy, paperwork, scrapbook, etc done it was end of April 2006 so it was exactly ONE year after that we got Alex.

We feel so blessed because we thought it could be 2 years at least.

I know its hard, but we did our best to keep busy and took ALOT of trips and traveled because we knew that we wouldn't once received a baby.

Thanks Cathy that means a lot! You are from a small town in Iowa too? The town we live in is really small, our agency is about 20 miles away in a different town. What part of Iowa are you from? We're in Northwest, we live in George but use the Orange City office of Bethany. 3 placements at my office has been made in May. I pray our wait is on a little bit longer. Going on 5 months now since approval.

Hi Amber!

I didn't even realize you were from Iowa too! Wow...small world.

I actually live in Ankeny and we went through the Adoption Connection that is located here in ankeny as well. Its right up the street!!!!!!

I am not sure why their placement ratio has been so slow lately but we lucked out

You just never know when you will get that call! Don't give up, because I did and was so surprised!
