Hi there!

My name is Adriane and I have been over in the IUI board for quite a while.
I am beginning the adoption process....and in saying that I mean I am in the research mode right now. I am not with an agency or anything...just reading books and checking out the state laws, etc. I was wondering if you all would mind me joining you and if I hit a snag or have questions if you would mind helping me out!!! The strangest thing has happened in the last 2 weeks and my heart is completely turned to adopt 1-2 children. I feel like my heart is overflowing with love for a child I have never met.

I know you are still researching but are you leaning towards one program yet?

Adriane!

My name is Marian. My DH and I have one DD from our sixth IVF try and we have one foster daughter! We are going to be adopting our foster daughter as soon as her severance goes through.

I started thinking about adoption by reading everything I could get my hands on. It's great place to start.

Hope you will continue to be a part of our group. We're a small group, but a caring group.

Welcome to the group Adriane. Dh and I are still trying to figure out what our next step will be so we are not with an agency either. We adopted our first son when he was 10 then we conceived our dd through ivf and now we are kind of waiting for our last ivf attempt this summer (or sooner). I'm ready to move on to adoption but dh is not so we are in limbo too.

Thanks girls!!! I was soo excited when I saw there was an adoption board. I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Kristine- I know we will be doing an American baby adoption (or) foster-adoption. I really feel a lead to get an older child- not a baby- maybe around 1 or 2 ??? But I am going to study all the laws about everything b/c I know you can run into sticky situations..
Also I am looking into the laws of my state with domestic adoption and getting newborns. I have been told that the birth mom has a whole year to reclaim her baby and I might have to go out of state b/c I dont want to hit a legal battle a year later. After all my IF issues I dont think I could handle the emotions involved with that.....
I'll keep all you gals posted as I move along!!!
