Welcome - I beleive there are 5 of us working with our states - currently the 3 of us that licensed are all doing foster/adoption. The other of in the process of taking classes. The main thing I can say is it is a wild rollar coaster - I have 2 bio children and 3 foster kiddos (it appears that these three will be going home but we are hopeful that we will get to adopt our forever children. Both of my bio children come as a result of fertility treatments and I'm just not willing to go to that extreme again (at least that what I say now) - Let me know if you have any questions - look forward to getting to know you better.

We have a great group of very knowledgable ladies when it comes to adopting/fostering through the states. I hope you'll stick around and share your journey with us.

I will have to agree with Jenn that fostering to adopt is a roller coaster ride, you will have your highs and lows. But in the end it's all worth it!!!

Right now I'm fostering 2 little girls and raising my niece Valerie . We are hoping to adopt one day and make one of them our forever child but until then I will continue to foster and after I adopt I will continue to foster to.

If you have any questions just ask.

Hi! My name is Marian and I am a fost/adopt mom too. I have a 17mo girl that I've had since 2 days old and she has gone to live with her aunt. Only she has been back living with us for the last three weeks or so... and will return back to aunt in 10 days or so (long story). I now also have her little sister (Olivia) who is eight weeks. We will probably be able to adopt her. My DD is 4yo. She was a DEFET on our sixth IVF try. Avery and Olivia are in my siggy.

Hope we can help you find your way through the maze of adoption. Go ahead and ask whatever questions you have.

No, however if there is no family able or willing to take on the kids, foster parents are usually given first "dibs" on whether they would like to adopt. Some foster families are foster only - so those children are matched with adoption eligible families.
