1st match meeting this week!

We are officially meeting an emom this week!! We have had two other couples looking at our profile but both decided to parent. This is a single mom who has been through some complicated issues and she has done adoption before with her other babies so she knows what to expect. I am not sure what to expect though! I'll keep you posted! She is due in 8 weeks!

Hi!

Okay, so the meeting went REALLY WELL and we very much hit it off and connected. We have similar expectations and wants to this baby. It is a boy, fyi.

BUT...we found out there was some extensive drug use for 4-6 weeks in the first trimester (crack). We had been told she uses only 2x but really it was waay more. We know there was no drug use after as she is in jail. So, needless to say, our heads are spinning as we do research. Despite how much we like this emom, we are leaning towards not moving forward, if offered this placement. It is very sad and complicated. We still doing more research and asking questions but not sure we are up for the emotional/behavioral challenges associated with this drug.
