Ok, first of all they are both doing GREAT!!! Jailynn weighs 16lbs 5oz 27 1/2 inches long and HC is 43.9cm Kailynn ( my lil whopper ) weighs 19lbs 12oz 27 inches long and her HC is 44.4cm Although there is a big difference in their weights, they are following the growth graph to a T, and are very well proportioned according to their body builds.
As he was examining them, he noticed that Kailynn has this lil fat roll on her left leg ( inner thigh ) Now, I've seen this before and didn't think anything of it, other then she's only got one on her left leg and not her right leg. He put her on the table and examined her more closely and said that he would like to have her hips x-rayed just as a precaution to make sure that her hip isn't a little outta line. Seems weird cause you would think if this was the case, she would be in pain, but I guess not. We are planning on taking her for this on Weds or Thurs. He said that if it all came back normal, then she's just got a fat roll on her leg and that's just her...lol Okkkkkkkk then. Here is a couple pics just to try and show you what I mean, if you look, you can tell it's on one leg and not the other. And yes, I COVERED her vajayjay with a lady bug...lol
He was very pleased that they are doing so well on table food and that we are slowly making the switch from babyfood to tablefood. He's not concerned about them not crawling yet, said they might even skip crawling all together and just start pulling themselves to stand and/or walk as some babies do. He said after they hit 11 months old that I could slowly start weaning them from formula to whole milk ( which is what they require until they are 2 )
Other then that, everything is GREAT! They are 110% healthy babies. They had their iron levels checked today and both were above the 11 mark, which is great. Also got their HIB and HEP shots. They go back on August 12th for their one year check up.

Sounds like a great appt Amy. Nice touch up or cover up work with the lady bug, ha! Both are growing great. Did he say what would happen if K's x-rays came back abnormal? What does out of line mean and is there something they would have to do to correct it?

wow, i dont think i would ever even notice that amy! it looks like a little pudge roll to me! but yea, i do see that its on one side and not the other..but man, i wouldnt have thought ANYTHING of that! i hope it turns out to just be some pudge
im glad the appt went well otherwise! sounds like some good healthy babes you got there!

I'm glad to hear that their appt went well. I'd be in the same boat I would have thought nothing of the one pudgy side other than she might use her other legs more then the other. I'm glad that your dr took notice and is doing something about it. I hoping for all good things! GL! KUP!

sounds like erring on the side of caution, try not to fret. neal had a slight hip click when he was born, but an xray/ultrasound showed there was nothing to it. just one of those things drs do to stress us out.

Wow, the girls are growing really well. Sounds like they had a great appointment, other than Kailynn needing an xray. I hope everything turns out well. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you all. Please keep us posted.

Thanks ladies!! My pedi is the best and I have 110% total faith and trust in him. He's very protective of "his babies" ( as he calls his lil patients...lol ) I'm glad he noticed it too, like I said, I also noticed it but just thought it was a normal lil fat roll, didn't even think about there not being one on the other leg, I thought it was weird, but my thinking didn't go any further then that. I'll let you all know what I found out on Weds/Thurs ( it'll probably be Thurs morning when we take her for it )

OH and Tobi told me to tell Kailynn not to worry about xrays.. he says they're not scarry.. im supprised hes not glowing yet LoL..
And your ped sounds awesome =) its nice when you can trust your most precious children with them..

Well wonderful to hear the girls had a great checkup. hopefully no biggie from the xray! I loved your photo editing job! she needs her privacy too! LOL!

Wow, Amy, they are starting to catch up to Luca!!! Next time they see each other there won't be such a size difference. I am sure K is perfectly fine. I will be keeping you and her in my thoughts! KUP!!!

They sound like they are growing great. My nieces hips where out of place when she was this age and she is fine now. They had to do the cast and double diapers and after a couple months she was fine. I hope it is nothing and Kailynn is ok.

your ped is just being cautious.... here all babies get an U/S of their hips at 3 months old to make sure all is ok... they just say that its easier to correct if you catch it early so i bet thats what they are doing with K....

I think it is so cute how Kailynn is the little chunker lol, so funny how different they are. I hope everything goes ok with the x-ray's, sounds like you guys have a very thorough ped to have noticed something like that.
