Default Speaking of BPA Free???

Anyone have any information on pacifiers and BPA? It might have been mentioned a while ago, but my family and I were just talking about this.

I know the actual part Alyssa sucks on is silicone, but what about the hard plastic part? And boiling them?

My nephew has a case of thrush and the pedi told my cousin that pacifiers are very germ ridden and what you should do is boil 5-6 pacifiers a day and switch them out every few hours. I've never done this, in fact, Alyssa uses the same one day after day. (Am I a bad mom???) So that brought up the topic of boiling them and if they contain BPA.

Also, how long are you supposed to boil them? What do you do? Turn on water and then when it's boiling put the items in? I'm pretty clueless about this.

TIA!

I hadnt heard about BPA in pacis. Great, another thing to worry about.
I throw mine in the sterilizer every couple of days.

I had heard about BPA in the lining of liquid formula containers though. Its always something.

Kelly, I only boil before the 1st use. There is a message on the back of the Nuk package to boil 2 minutes before the 1st use. Everynight, I just suds up my hands with a little Dawn detergent and wash the binky with my hands a little and then rinse in hot water. We just use the same binky for about two weeks and then I usually throw it away and then give her a new one.
