This is a discussion on my crazy life within the August 2007 - Adorable August Armfulls forums, part of the Born in 2007 category; the end of the of the school year is pure chaos, i'm sure you moms of school age kids ...
the end of the of the school year is pure chaos, i'm sure you moms of school age kids will agree with that.
then there's work, i have a health fair tonight and my work conference next week.
we just put our house back on the market - which means keeping it perfect all the time. i've been busting my arse painting the interior to touch everything up nice and clean like, moved furniture, accomplished a 2 page list of "showcase" items to make the house buyer friendly, lol. almost makes me want to stay there.......until i remember why we want to move (but that's another post). chris has painted the exterior in the back, just the front to go and a little on the sides (we have 4 sided brick thank god).
anyway, my classes start back june 2nd, we leave for florida june 9th.
then there's moms club, i've actually had to cut back there a bit.
and now i've added a little radio gig to my list. long story short, me and 4 friends have been coined "the real housewives of cartersville" by a local DJ and we are going to start guest hosting on the show on tuesdays. the studio is so tiny we have to go in one at a time, and i'm first, so tomorrow from 8-9 am (wish me luck) i'll be on the radio. then once all the girls have gone in, i'll be the one who's there the most b/c i've got the easiest childcare situation. i'm really excited and nervous at the same time.
anyway, not sure what the point of this thread was other than to ramble about my crazy life and tell you gals about the radio show.

Wow Melissa. Sounds like you have your plate full. It must be hard trying to keep the house "show ready" with the 4 boys, eek! I hope you guys are able to sell it quickly. Are you planning on staying in the same area? So why are you moving?? HA!

ugh kelly. first off, we were stupid. we were mortgage free and took out a piddly $90k on our house, but with bad credit we got a 8%, most of our payment goes to taxes, then to intrest. we were so naive. and with some crazy stuff going on at DH's work, his income is so unstable right now. so not having a mortgage again is our #1 goal. remove the stress of the payment and chris will finally feel able to move on in his career, b/c he has an unwritten deal with the car he drives so he's afraid if he leaves before it's paid off he'll lose it - stupid reason to me, i say give the car back, but whatever. second, we hate our neighborhood. don't get me wrong, it's a great hood, but we don't fit in. we are not the type to keep up with the Jones'. and we just don't "fit in". we don't wear mall clothes, we don't drive $80k cars, we don't belong to the Country Club, our kids don't trek around the hood on golf carts, we don't vacation for months in the tropics, etc. third, we NEED a basement, and we WANT land for our boys to romp around on. so we're selling and moving on to greener pastures so to speak.

Wow Melissa, I have been wondering where you were, sounds like you have been very busy. Good luck with the sale of your home, is the market in your area still pretty good? It is terrible in the area we are at, there are so many houses on the market again, lots of people trying to get out of the adjustable interest rate and we even have a couple of foreclosures around the block. Our home value has dropped $50k since we moved in, in Nov 06, hopefully things will turn around in a few years.
The radio show sounds interesting, wish I could tune in, but not able to at work. Let us know how it goes and I know you will do a great job.
How's the WW going for you? I am kinda stuck right now, not gaining, but not losing either. Its not because of the program, it is because of me. Weekends are the worst for me, I think I need to put a lock on the pantry door and give the key to DH
we've got ours listed at $40k below last appraisal. we just want out. and that puts us the lowest in the neighborhood. when we bought the houses were moving in 3-4 weeks. there's one on our street that's been on the market nearly two years now, dummies started it too high when the market was good, now there's no intrest and they still have it too high.
as for WW, i fell off that wagon weeks ago. holding steady, not gaining not losing. i need to get my butt in gear. i definately see the gym in my future, i'll need the peace and quiet during summer break, lol.

Melissa, you did a great job. I didn't get to hear all of it since I'm at work, but I heard most. I agree with Dani. LOVE THE ACCENT. Your mom's club sounds really neat too. Sounds like you have met some great ladies that you are friends with. Too bad it's for SAHM's. There is a local chapter here where I live but I work full-time.
i'm so flattered y'all took time to listen. i had the time of my life. on the breaks were really fun - some crazy conversation and dave banter. i cannot wait to go back. next tuesday is my friend Kim.
