Default Re: Gates?

we don't really use gates right now...

in cali, we could close the door to the kitchen, and for whatever reason, thankfully, he never tried to leave the carpeted area and go into our front hall.

here at mom's, there's really no place to use them....wouldn't work with where we'd need them, but i'll block him from getting to the bedrooms by putting the playpen in the way, and using the walker to block the entrance to the kitchen, so they're easier to move (my 3 year old nephew can move both) and it works...though shaun's new game is crawling under the walker so that one may stop working soon...

soon after his first birthday i'm going to try to put him in the toddler bed (makes me sad), and then i'll be putting a gate on our doorway so he can't leave the room...

I have one gate that I bought at toyrus, we had a larger than standard size stairs, and took back at least 3 gate before finding on that fit, and also this one was harder for my last son to climb over..

I have this one but you see how well it works, this was a few months ago:

This one was to keep her out of the kitchen. Ive since just taken it down cause she was scaring the crap outta me but we still have to keep one on our stairs. We put it on the bottom one and we have walls that go up the stairs so she cant climb that one its up too high for her

omg bec!!! that would scare me too but it's sooo cute and funny!! That's one of those times, if it happened to me, that I would be telling Abby sternly to get down while trying to hold back from laughing.

yeah we tried no but it didnt work so we gave up. The thing that was most irritating is she could get up but not down so she would stand therescreaming for someone to get her down LOL! I tell dh I think we might have a "climber" on our hands. My other girls werent climbers.
